My brother and my self did the swap in a period of six days, thats counting picking up the motor, parts car, and the clutch and other odd parts. My car was a 2.8 with an auto-trans, it has sat for two years till now. It now has a 3400 out of a van, the 5-speed is out of a 91 cavalier, I used my 89 computer. As far as the Egr goes, we just eleminated it.(just a plate to cover it, no chip, no codes) The car idles at 700rpm....no idle issues like a lot of people said I would. We made the front motor mount in about 30 minutes, works great and I am running the new a/c compressor. This is a week today since I got it out and the only problem I had was I dropped a coil the first day, I have extra. drove it to school all week and pulled almost 27mpg with stock plugs in the motor (70,000 miles) and I don't baby things.
The car runs great and everything works great but the only thing I haven't had a chance to look at is the speedo crap. My car had a gear driven speedo and the new trans has a electronicle. How do you get by this?
