I'd never seen one until not long ago. A Cutty with a Q4 is rare enough, I have to imagine that a GP with the Q4 is that much more so.

More horsepower than a 3100, and probably about the same torque level as a 3.1MPFI. Less weight, too. I wish they would have made more like that.

I actually see way more Q4 GPs than CSs...Now a really rare find would be an A code Q4 Cutlass Supreme.

A code is the NON high output, right? If that is the case, I have seen 1 and ONLY 1. It was in a Cutlass Supreme SEDAN.

No, the A code is what we saw in that Calais Saturday...That IS the HO Q4. D was for the LO Q4.

I have only seen 1 of the normal Quad4, but I have seen a lot of the HIGH OUTPUT Quad4's.

3.1's had quite a bit more torque and response. Also ran alot smoother. fuel economy was about the same. These reasons and more is why most customers opted for the 6.

In Cutlass Supremes? Because the HO was not available in GPs...I have a lot more D code cars documented than I do A code. I maybe have 10 A code cars documented, which was 1990 only, compared to hundreds of D code cars which was available in 1990-91.

IIRC they only made Q4's in CS's and GP's for 90-91. GP's I think only got LO, and CS's got the option of both.

No auto ever was but behind a HO model. There is a guy who doesn't really post on W-body that has a HO Q4. He says he gets like 30-32 Hwy.

I had a Calais with the HO Q4 that got 41mpg on the highway!
