stuck solid to the road through fresh snow with almost bald rear tires right up until i hit the brick streets here in oakmont (coming from outside monroeville off 22 for those who know pittsburgh) and then the whole way up to my street i was tryin to keep it straight, it was great, haha, i love it
even without power steering it does great... needs an alignment and tire balance though, i'll prolly throw it up on the rack next friday and get it inspected all in one shot... might throw new tires on the rear but the guy gave me one that has some decent tred left for the one thats nearly bald
great guy, even helped clean out the blower motor so i would have heat on the way home, thing was packed with what looked like carpet backing, lol
i love this car!!! never thought i would be so happy with it and there are things that need fixed but its great... i found you really have to give it throttle and once you REALLY push it the thing gets up and goes pretty well, perhaps better than my POS DOHC neon (has an exhaust leak)... which is now for sale
couldn't believe how well it stuck, the whole ride home i pushed it further and further and i ended up having to completely floor it before the tires would spin
I have never spun the tires in my 3800SC Fiero. With %60 of the weight on the rear there is no way to break them loose. If you do watch out. I have done many 360's because the rear got out.
meh, i was sliding the thing all day, lol.... was flying through snow and ice aswell without issue... just need to get an alignment and get the tires balanced, lol
lol, ive had one incident... last year i hit ice with my rear drivers tire with a full tank off gas and it rotated like nothing... couldn't even drive out of it, did one full spin atleast... maybe 2 and then ended up jumping a snow bank backwards between 2 poles, clipping the curb which in turn slammed me straight down from about 3 feet in the air, not like my spine wasn't compressed enough already
as far as damage to the car... just the front bumper cover and drivers rocker cover suffered aswell as minor brake issues (ground a rotor down due to sticking slides and FUBAR'ed anti rattle clips), still have my bu and im still in love with it, i was lucky but the funny thing was i was going fairly slow compared to surrounding traffic.... never had a problem other than that, go figure it was valentines day last year, heh
as far as the alignment... i always go for a FULL alignment had any experience with the silverstar 6054 headlights? im looking for something a bit brighter, i would love the low dual round pop ups sold on PFF but i dont have that kind of money right now
the 4 tech (iron duke) isn't that much of a dog. it's got decent torq. In the 5spd grand am I drove it would fly up an on ramp that was up hill almost as good as my beretta does.

el diablo, if you give me $800, I'll take yer neon away.....
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance
