  • 1/4 mile from data log?

Calculated my 1/4 mile from a data log. I let off at 90mph... I shouldn't have I think!!! Plus it shifted 2-3 waaaay early at 5350 RPM. I was recording with a camera too so I couldn't hold 2nd and manually shift. 1-2 shift was nice as always winding out at 5774 RPM and pulling all the way up to it.

    Well I got 15.2 @ 90mph ... sound about right?

That's with full tank of gas, 52mm TB and stock exhaust minus muffler and resonator! LOL!! On this old 200,000 mile 3100 with 3400 & 3500 intake manifolds! Better exhaust and bigger TB should help hahaha.

Still though, not bad for an old exhaust restricted motor eh???

2ndly, Anyone else do this? How accurate? Any calculators out there to feed my log to?

I tried moonwell's log analyzer but it's in beta and doesn't work exactly well with my data stream... It does give me a .csv (minus IAT and RPM) though to calculate myself with. It said 16.9 1/4 no way that's right lol It did say 0-60 in 6.43 which sounds more accurate than it's 1/4mile calc...

    Comments?

At 15.4 with the throttle fully closed (high vac) speed is 89mph
    At 15.5-15.6 it's back up to 90mph.

That means the throttle snapping closed engine brake'd me for a sec until the momentum overcame and the transmission converter let car spin free of the engine. Then the next split sec's it declines fast cause I hit the brakes. I let off at 90 and hit the brakes right away.

So it was about to go to 91 so 15.3 at 91 could be a time as well...

How do you figure what the end 1/4 time is... low time low speed.. high speed high time? Where do you figure the cross over point? Or do you have to calculate from time and mph to figure distance? I don't want to do that by hand! lol

I don't want to get too excited at the thought of exhaust and TB putting me possibly in the 14's yet!

Hmm 90mph is too fast for that time... Looks like it won't work that way. Need an app to calc distance with this....

Yeah I wish. The track that I ran a 16.0 stock ~2hrs away was bulldozed for apartments. Now the closest is like 3-3.5hrs away and only 1/8th mile.

i hit 15.2 at 88 my slips on here that was a generic tune, never did get a good time tuned 15.4 in the muggy blazing sun and i had to let off so it would shift out of 2nd.
90 you would be more close to 15.0

I found an excell macro to run, but it needs RPM as well... Damn. Moonwell fix your online program for my car!!! LOL. That or Mark needs to fix TunerPro to record my datastream without holes in the data. I could use the .CSV from TP export but I think among missing BLM it's missing vehicle speed... LOL I can't win for loosing. No way to get a complete .CSV...

geldartb: Yeah that's what I figured. I don't know if I shaved a full sec off my stock time with ported intakes and cold weather hahah. Didn't feel like a 15 but then again I don't know what a 15 pull feels like hahaha.
