The true meaning of NOS is NO OTHER SOLUTION. Big deal you can build a 12 second car with a crap load of nitrous, who can't? Nitrous oxide belongs at the dentist office not sprayed into a motor.

Ever see the "NOS" energy drinks at the convenience stores? The can is shaped like a gas bottle and the NOS logo looks like the real Holley Nitrous Oxide Systems logo. What the heck are they thinking? These kids are so ignorant. Of course there is not actually nitrous oxide in these drinks. As you know it is an intoxicant / anasthaetic with about the opposite effect on the body as it has on engines.
For a while a local "chain store" was selling nitrous kits marketed to the import kids, with oversimplified DIY instructions. I don't think they still sell them. Must have been some folks who Didn't Follow Dorections and blew up their Civic; or crashed and sued the store for selling them something that made their car too fast.
It is undenibly a low-cost boost though, and has its place. But I prefer making power through other means that need only air and fuel. Continuous duty if you know what I mean!
