  • This site is *#$@%& great!!

I've been checking this site out for a week now and i gotta say THIS SITE FUCKING ROCKS!!! Where the fuck did you guys learn so much about W-bodys? I've been working on cars since I was 12, i've been to auto tech school, and i've worked in more shops than i want to think about and I still know NOTHING compared to you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone on this site gets the HIGHEST amount of respect from me. ROCK THE FUCK ON!!!!!!
If it\'s fun, it\'s probably illegal and if it\'s illegal I\'m probably doing it.

Hi, welcome to the site You can't tell really, but I'm one of the admins, fyi.

I've gotten the impression over the years that these guys got all their knowledge from good old trial and error. From personal experience. Taking it apart, putting it back together.....sometimes half a dozen times. Of course there is also some research involved in it, like looking stuff up online or asking around.

But I'm with you on this one. Sometimes I'll ask a question and think to myself "WTF? I didn't need the technical analysis!" (not that it's not cool, because it is). Sometimes they'll get into discussions with each other, and they sound like they were actually there during the design process of the engine :wtf:

So, if you need help with something (mainly revolving around the 60° V6 engine), I'll almost guarantee you someone around here knows the answer.

Trivia time The original site was done by a W body owner...then another W body owner started a yahoo forum which got everyone together for the pushrods 60V6 engines back in hmmm, 98/99. Then yet again, w body owner combines the site and forum to a real domain and better forums. First GMForums, now on our own

I think our knowledge base comes from experience and a lack of shit talk flame wars taking over the boards. Platform sites have to deal with mixed interests, while we are all from different platforms with pretty much the same interests, or the same topics for maintenance. Doesn't matter to us if your engine is in a GM vehicle, a 3 wheeled tube frame (for real!), or a miata, though its pretty bad ass seeing all of these projects.

Def think about coming to the meet, its going to be in kentucky july 30-aug 2, where we had our first meet in 2001.

Welcome! Trial and error is definitely the way I learned stuff about 660s. Not to mention just reading lots of articles, descriptions, etc. Yeah, come to the meet......its my home state......KY 0wnz j00! Seriously, it should be good.

i visit alot of online forums.
the only ones i join and return to on a regular basis are the ones where there are not flame wars, but actual discussions about the topic at hand.

so far i like the place. of course i met some of these guys at w-body.com as well as gmforums before it busted.
