WASHINGTON (AP) -- Science is confirming what most women know: When given the choice for a mate, men go for good looks.

And guys won't be surprised to learn that women are much choosier about partners than they are.

"Just because people say they're looking for a particular set of characteristics in a mate, someone like themselves, doesn't mean that is what they'll end up choosing," Peter M. Todd, of the cognitive science program at Indiana University, Bloomington, said in a telephone interview.

Yeah given a choice I would go for the attractive one. BUT if there are several attractive girls in one spot, and one is annoying or dumb acting, she no longer appears hot. So I think it depends on the situation too.

there is one point overlooked in this report .why woman go for wealth ?
man usually go for the hottest pray ,when we start dating we usually start at the hottest and degrade until we find our partner ,but always looking to land the hottest and the reason they give is correct "we let our animal ins tics choose what we believe is the best reproductive genes that way our offspring is better than us and have a better chase than us and so on and so on".

to take care of the offspring ,what the report didn't mention is that woman choose who they want to reproduce with the rich guy brings stability ,but alot of time they end up reproducing with a big macho dude kinda like me ,lol.
