flow numbers are for 3400 pushrod motor, not 3.4 DOHC
    HEADS UP, GUYS:

I've been informed through the grapevine, indirectly from the guy that did those flow numbers, that they are for the GM 3400 pushrod motor, not the DOHC- both engines share the same 60 degree block to my knowledge, but different top ends- for some reason he insisted on telling Lou, to try to "get me in trouble", for posting "incorrect information" on our own site. All he had to do was tell me and I would gladly pass that info on and correct it, like I'm doing now. This kid seemed intent on trying to ambush me by "proving me wrong" or something. WTF ?? (laughter...) I think someone has to put down the hash pipe and video game remote...

Yet he drives a Honda, and it's like a 16 second car- these guys argued with me, and got all bent out of shape, telling me I should not disconnect my EGR valve from my engine- telling me to save the environment and s-hit like that. So you make the call...

at this point, I'm thinking, perhaps the flow numbers were taken with a vacuum cleaner, who knows...I believe he used one of those "quick flow" attachments for a vacuum cleaner, the intake ports on those heads are only 111 cc, so I'm starting to SERIOUSLY doubt the flow numbers now- my radar went off. The flow numbers are not from the best source, so tread cautiously at this point.

    lesson learned...

anyway, this leads me to suspect, the DOHC V-6 heads may flow even more !

So the intake ports being 111cc means they can't flow? MYTH: You can compare pontiac 1960-70s V8 heads to GM 60V6 heads made in the 90s.

False. The cc measurement is going to be more if you have 6" of runner in the head! The 60V6 head is missing the valve cover gasket area...cause the rest of it is part of the lower intake manifold.

Myth: A honda elite SR 50 scooter runs 16s in the 1/4.

False. It probably takes 25 seconds+ but thanks for your enthusiasm in scooter performance.

Myth: I use quick flow attachements on a vacuum cleaner to come up with flow numbers used on the site and store.

False. I use a proven setup with vacuum motors. My bench is rated within 5% of industry standard superflow bench testing. Proven 3% in testing. Proven 1% repeatability.

Myth: Removing the EGR makes HP on a 3.4 DOHC

False. The EGR is not open at wide open throttle so that doesn't matter. The EGR is also tuned into the ECM to adjust spark and fueling based on the % it is open. While removing the crude EGR devices of the late 70s may have made a noticable difference (probably from rejetting/timing the motor too?), it takes more than a ratchet and socket to correctly disable/remove the EGR.

Myth: I know more than you cause I was doing this when you were in diapers.

Huh? Quality or quantity...you obviously aren't too intelligent if you have to pull that bullshit card every time someone disagrees with you.

You gotta be joking. REALLY! So you think they outflow the 3400? You should write a book.

3.4 DOHC flows 150-200% of the 3500 from .050-.250 lift. I blew through them and wrote down what I felt they flowed.

I say if they are too stupid to check the GM part number listed on your flow sheet, then let them suffer from their own stupidity. That admin(zedo) is an obvious idiot and hypocrite.

You might as well just leave now. Why? Something to ponder...
