Listen to the post whore with 333 posts after his name, tell the guy with 21 posts to stop posting. Now isn't that the pot calling the kettle black.

    Simmer down.

I was building engines and racing cars when you were still shitting your pants- which is pretty damn obvious by your response here. If a thread isn't about you, it's not any good, right ? The mods can just delete any threads they see as repetitive. I'm in a bind here and need info fast, I can't wait around for people to happen upon the thread and read it all. You're the ONLY guy that acted like a jerk so far, everyone else was helpful. This forum wasn't exactly bustling with activity before I came in here. We run 2 Pontiac V-8 sites, and I mod/admin both of them, and we want people to post as much as possible- not as little as possible. WTF is your problem then ?

Besides, I don't see "mod" or "admin" next to your name, so GFY.

333 posts and joined 6/22/04... Less than 10 posts per month.

That's beside the point. I think the point he was trying to make (and one that I do somewhat agree with), was that you could have posted every one of your questions in a single thread, instead of having 8 threads with 1 question in each. There is a better chance for people to look at a single thread than to look at 8 from the same person, all within an hour of each other.

Oh yeah, and I do have admin next to my name...

          bszopi:

if the topic is new, I start a new thread- it's the only way to insure the topic gets attention and a speedy reply- otherwise it gets buried in an old topic, and gets no reply

if the multiple threads are so "bad", then the mods can just delete them, right ? it's as easy as a mouse click- but if you start deleting threads in "DOHC MAINTENANCE" forum, that are about how to time DOHC engines without pulling the front serpentine system and covers, and how to cut access holes to view timing marks, etc.- you're going against what a forum is for, which is info exchange

what is worse- posting multiple on-topic threads about various real problems and questions- or what DOHC posted, a flame thread ?

the latter is worse- this is "DOHC MAINTENANCE"- not "lobby" or "bullpen"

FWIW, a few more issues popped up that are not covered in these forums, and the only way to put it on the record, is post it

          ps:

If you would have posted that many times on any other forum those threads would have all been deleted. Especially on w-body. CGP can care less what goes on in the 1st Gen section.

I do also believe that if you have a lot of questions then list them all in one thread. Just keep on editing your first post and people can read your questions. Opening up 8 threads just takes up more room on the server side and most likely you are going to get less replies!

Just put it all in one thread, I'm ignoring all your threads because it annoying to have the forum flooded with them. I can't find anybody else’s posts because there’s too many of yours. Posting a million times to get people to read your posts should not be tolerated. Post like everyone else, if you want people to read but a bump or TTT.

I don't delete on-topic tech threads on our groups, so you're wrong there

                  4.329 posts in the lobby

over 9,600 posts in the lobby

if you guys start deleting on-topic tech threads, you're nuts- so stop whining like a little girly-man

I admin and mod both those sites

oh, gee, what a dreadful loss, I'll never get my 3400 running now...(laughter...)

if you coulda', you woulda'- instead, you found, and replied twice, to this lame flame thread- most likely because your little but-ty emailed you

the guys that have the timing knowledge and mechanical skill, have already emailed and PM'd me here, and replied to my threads- and not posted on this thread-

obviously you never timed a 3400 in your life- that's why you didn't answer- I'm starting to get the notion, that you fellas who are posting on this thread, are the guys who don't know your wrench sizes

Man you got it all wrong. You think we are hear to make fun or something. Just put all questions in one topic. This way you will not annoy people and get a lot more responses. I notcied that this site is not very busy, but for tough questions on 60degreev6 this is the site.

If you can time a 3400 like a DOHC then goodluck.

A 3400 is a pushrod engine. 3.4 DOHC is not!!!!!!

No i've never timed a single cammed 3400.. Timed plenty of 3.4s dohcs though. I'm just saying though plenty of people will over look all your posts because they don't want to go to 8 posts and answer simple questions.

ok, that's more like it- you need to give respect, to get respect- if I didn't have a mis-timed DOHC in the first place, there would not be the urgency there is here- so back off a little, it's not like this is going to be a daily thing, who the hell has time for it, for one thing
