soon i will be doing the swap over into one of my aleros. i already have the ecm and bcm. i am getting the wiring harness soon. the swap will probably be done in the winter time most likely since i will be probably broke until then. any comments or how to go about this would be appreciated. i already looked pretty far into this already as far as the driveaxles going in no problem. the swap is engine and tranny complete series 1 from a 1995 buick park avenue ultra. somebody told me i have to use pinouts from the alero or something like that.

You'll probably want to post this on a 90* or Alero specific board. This is a 60* board and most of us have little to no experiance with the 3800, at least when it comes to swapping them in.
I believe these links still work:
There's an Alero board that I can't think of the URL for....

The Alero has a BCM, but it is the BODY CONTROL MODULE. Every electronic thing on the interior is controlled by it. Might have to swap one in to get the engine data to interface with the gauges.
Keep in mind that the Grand Am, and Alero BCM is the weirdest setup I have EVER seen.Taylor

I'm not sure that swap is worth it. You're not gaining much. That is a Series I 3.8 SC, and only makes 205HP and 240 ft lb of torque. While that is a big improvement over the engine in your car, the better bet would be a 1998+ L67. It starts with 240HP and 280ft lb of torque. Plus, there is an aftermarket for it, unlike the Series 1 engine. I'm not sure which car to advise you to get one from, since you're going in to an N-body car. But, W-body electronics would work best, GP GTP for the PCM. The engine would probably be best sourced from a W-body as well.\"NASCAR is an integral part of my life. well some of the "flaws" up here around me are the 95 supercharger engines are all day long now that i have the 95 one. plus anyways i got the engine and trans complete for well under 500 for engine and trans that have only 60k on it the car was hit it the rear it was a perfect reason to pick up this engine and so i did. 1998+ L67 would be nice there are a few here but i dont have the money they want for it because they sell accesories and all parts of the engine for cheap but when they have blower or supercharger it is like 3x more expensive. the swap would be well worth it in the v6 since it always runs hot regardless if it freezing out or 100 degrees outside. my current 3400 has enough problems with coolant leaking (fixed almost completely without having to do gaskets yet). also it would allow me to give the car the well needed attention since it could use better suspension as it is and the gas mileage hasnt been the same since i got it with 35,000 miles like 3 years ago (atleast 70,000 miles right now one transmission later engine will be next i know it)
already have:
95 buick park avenue ultra engine/trans
pcm (ecm whatever u want to call it), bcm
need:
wiring harness
to pick car for engine to go in
better suspension if goes into 2001 3.4 aleroPlanning on doing 3800 Supercharged swap soon in either my 4cyl or 6cyl.

im seriously starting to consider the v6 alero when i plan to do the swap. it would solve the problems im having with the 3.4l although the 3.4l has beaten many cars by surprise one of the best "kills" was a z28 that said he ran 13sPlanning on doing 3800 Supercharged swap soon in either my 4cyl or 6cyl.
