Bullydog is nice.. overrated though. They charge so much because.. well.. they can.

I read about them in performance business magazine. Overrated? I dunno unless their dyno numbers aren't accurate.

Oh they are very acurate numbers.. they live up to their exptecations.. diablo sport is good. And so is Banks. Banks, in my opinion, is the BEST bang for the buck. With the 5" exhaust, programmer, cam piece, upped FPR and fuel pump, you are making OVER 1500 lb's of torque. Add in level three injectors, your pushing 2000 ft/lbs and 1k hp.

Well w/ all those mods I mentioned, it would only increase gas mileage on a diesel. I know of 1200+ft/lb to the WHEELS diesels grabbing 25mpg+.

you are overratting just a little(ok, a LOT), no diesel with a stock turbo and injectors is going to make that kind of hp/tq. And Banks is an overpriced joke, I wouldn't touch their electronics. their hardware is good but overpriced. There are other companies that make better Hp #'s for less green. I do happen to own a diesel so I know what I am talking about.

Diesels are easy to turn up since they are severely derated from the factory in most cases. Diesels are rated at what they can run wide open full load all day long w/o failure. Mine is dyno proven at 457/1002 with all stock internals. All I have so far is 2 boxes stacked, intake/exhaust, turbo, and pusher pump. With injectors and a modded high pressure pump I will be close to 600 hp.

I am now at the point that parts are expensive, just having my injectors rebuilt with 100 hp tips is going to be $1700!

Diesels can make such extraordinary numbers because they are turboed, and it's almost impossible to run them lean. And because everything in the motor has to be made of steel they're very tough.
I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

THEY ARE LEAN BURN ENGINES! that is why they get such good mileage. A diesel engine is fuel throttled, they only get enough fuel to maintain the current rpm. a properly tuned diesel will not smoke in a steady state condition and will only smoke a little if at all when they are trying to accellerate. if it is smoking it is considered overfueled and really isn't efficient since it is sending partially burn't fuel out the exhaust. Diesels can see such large improvements since in most cases they are severely de rated from the factory. also when you increase the fueling to the engine it creates more boost.

EGT is you first limiting factor. Then mechanical destruction. You can make power until you find a breaking point.

There is no need to worry about detonation, octane rating or spark knock when under boost.
