  • Interesting/Scary Press In China

There is nothing fake about this. 100% real. Here is an E Mail sent to me. You get this kind of thing in the plastics industry.

This is a progressive die running in China. It is very efficient, it can kill 6 people at a time. The great thing is they don’t have to contend with OSHA, Worker comp, EPA, or the fire department.

This kind of competition is what our congressmen and senators tell us is good for America. If they really feel that is true why don’t they close down OSHA so we can work under the same deplorable conditions as China?
Here is the video. You better not come to work with a hangover...Oh, if you lose an arm, they move you to the other side.

It's auto-lubed too. Just push the guy in front.

      That's bad....

How about the guy on the back-left? He was the only one dipping his head out of the press.....

I guess that means he would feel it longer when the machine failed, lmao.

yeehaa!! Cheap labor. Fuckin idiots. On the flip side a few presses we had at my old place were capable of doing that on their own. If the cam for whatever reason moved even a fraction more than it was supossed to the platen was coming down no matter what. I think , hell, OSHA had to know about it cause the presses were 40 years old. Course there were alot more saftey systems on them than the ZERO in the vid. Operator was not SITTING ON THE PLATEN. If I could get an old hard drive to wake up I could show some ahh, questionable, industrial "mysteries".

            More than ever.

I just finished working on a mold made in China....It's a f.....g joke. Their engineering is almost as bad as their lack of safety.

Isn't that lovely. The thing is it's cheaper in Chine to throw more manpower at something (since it's so cheap) than actually spend the $ on keeping everyone safe. So kill a few, eh just replace them, get back to work.

I try so hard not to buy shit from that country but it's almost impossible.

RBC, the last china tool I worked with kept having hydraulic leaks out the ying yang. I finally figured out they had engineered the friggin thing with the mold gate cylinders between the horse shoe style heaters. Kept melting seals. Duh. Ended up switching to air. Could handle a little air leak but not hyd. Company said they saved around 50,000 building this die. Ended up making me alot of money working on it.

The flower industry probably has more skeletons in its closet.

I'd click the link, but we all know how work computers have a tendency to block things.
