Just saying hello. I stumbled upon this board while searching the net for GM info. Found a lot of good info on here and will be using it on my project. Just to let you know it's a Saturn. But it does use a LOT of the same technology and I think that's pretty cool. I have an extensive background working on GM cars. So hoepfully we can all help each other out here. Thanks for reading.

Thanks for not flaming.
The racecar in it's current form will be receiving a fully-built Saturn 1.9L DOHC 4-banger with a T3/T4 turbo. The next version may get an Ecotec 4-cyl or we may go with a V6. It all deepnds on what happens with this current motor. I wired up a Haltech E6X last night and had some issues with it seeing an RPM signal.... That's why I signed up here. To search for info on the Haltech and the GM DIS module. I found some good info so I'm going to try it out.
Speaking of GMForums. What happened to it? It didn't seem to take off at all. It turned into some pop-up ad site.Jeff Silva ~ http://www.DifferentRacing.com

The owner supposedly sold the site, and shut the site down at 2 am without warning "cause he didnt have to tell anyone what he was doing". We are better off without it really, though a lot of good info was lost.
Although we don't care a whole lot about your specific engine, we can all learn from the similarities and relative discussions If you can cram a 3500/3900/3.6 DOHC or 3.4 DOHC, we would care a whole hell of a lot more! hahaha, those cars don't weigh much do they.Ben

Yeah they're pretty light. Our race car is 1820lbs without driver. Did a 12.4 with a stock motor and nitrous. Was pretty fun.
Yeah the motor is definately a POS. But it does use a lot of the same electronics as the V6's. It uses the same 7x reluctor on the crank as the early 90's V6's. And the ignition controller is similar as well. It just has two coils instead of three. I'm staring at one right now about ready to throw it against a wall. Stupid thing won't talk to the Haltech. Anyone have any luck getting one of these to work?
EDIT: Nevermind. Got it to work. Now it just won't fire injectors...Jeff Silva ~ http://www.DifferentRacing.com

1820# holy shit, my car was 3174 with 1/2 a tank of gas me in it (im about 130ish) and no intirior spare, jack, raido speakers.....
and if that haltech gives ya any trouble call em up, their tech support is pretty helpful (no personaly experience, but on the racing team i was on with my university, the engine guy called em and they set him up sweet)
welcome to the site, this is by far the most informative site ive ever been on , and it dosent have the useless crap like most other boards have (i think that has to do with the slightly older crowd on here)3.4L camaro some goodies
