    Lets see if anyone can top the this bad luck!
    My friend bought a 92 Lumina Z34. It needed a trans but it was in the trunk so it all good. Well We started on Sunday putting the trans in and we finished Monday.The old trans had a blown servo in it didn't have 1st or 4th gear.We went through the whole harness first to see if any wires were broken. We checked for resetence in every wire that had anything to do with the silanoides. Nothing was wrong. Well get the car running put it in gear and it had first gear for about 10 secs and then went right into limp mode. Well then we shut it off let it sit and it started back up and had first gear but no voltage. So we take the alt off and have it tested. FAILED. We get a new one and put it in minus the rear bolt because it sucks. We put it back in Still no Voltage. So then we checked all the charging system wires and every thing checked out there,Then it comes to us how the hell is this alt get its ground? the rear bolt the threads in the back of the alt! we instead of taking the alt back off right way we ran a jumper wire to the side of the alt case to the good ground. What do you know voltage!! So then we go look at my GTP to see how how the alt was getting its ground becasue I had a shop do mine and i strictly remember the guy telling me"Oh its not that back,after you get it back out it only takes five minutes to get back together. So i wanted to see just for shits and giggles if this guy ran a jumper wire on my alt.We took a look at how mine was setup. the guy that did it did not put the rear bolt back in but did take the coated stud and nut out and put a harden steal bolt in its place. There are two spots on that alt that can be used a ground the rear bolt hole that sucks and the the ten millimeter stud and nut the big 15 millimeter does not support a ground seeing that it goes right through the case and the case is coated and would never have any contact with a ground. And the Ten Millimeters Stud and Nut are also coated or something because it too would get a ground.So we put a the steal bolt in its place and it had voltage and 1st gear then the voltage dropped and it went into limp mode again. at this point we want to just blow this car up. So we rip the wiring harness a part. we find out the exciter wire was broken at the fuse box so we replaced it were all happy like finally were done. we start it up we had voltage we let the car run a warm up and in the mean time start to pick up the tools and clean up, we back out of the shop put it in first gear a floor it expecting to do a big ass burn out.. NOT!!! LIMP MODE once again. So we dig and dig and dig and we find out that somewhere in the harness the exciter wire is spliced into the trans silanoide for 1st and 4th gear. So we run a wire from the old exciter wire to the new one that we ran to the alt pigtail. we put on a new pigtail because it was burned up.and that was probley what caused the alt to die and the wire to brake.)AND Whoa AND BEHOLD ITS WORKED CAR IS WAS FINALLY RIGHT.Then I got to get into my car and drive away start it put it in gear voltage drops when i come to a stop sign go t take off LIMP MODE!!!!!!!!!!! Now what the hell is the chances of both cars doing that at the same damn time! We take my alt off my car tested it .FAILED. we put and new in no VOLTAGE and LIMP MODE once again. So we rip into my harness and i swear to god the same damn problem that the Lumina had!!!! THAT SHIT WAS WIERD AS HELL !!!!!!!! No all of you cant say that itsnt some messed up shit right there. Anyways we got both cars up and running again or next adventure is our timing belts !! woo who fun there!

    Got me beat. Seriously, about your car having the same issue...its the curse of the Z34. You can only stop the curse by fixing a non Z34. Pretty handy since it attacks your own vehicle. Well, not so handy if you own 2 lumina Z34s.
