  • MPFI Upper Intake/Plenum

Today was a nice warm day and I figured the beast needed some engine bay appearance touching up. This took me about 2 maybe 3 hours, nothing too hard just time consuming.
What I had to work with...

    The progress with end results...

Anyone else recently accomplish something like this? If so post some pics!

found some. I used to have a pic with a screwdriver reflected on the plenum, but I can't find it. Might be on a disc somewhere around here. You can tell it is shiny at least.

Thank you, but that is an OLD pic. About 6 months after I did that, I pulled my 2.8 and dropped in a 3100. I still have that plenum around somewhere. I think I saw it in storage a couple of weeks ago. Just needs to be cleaned up, and it will look good as new. err, better than new.

I'm working on powdercoating a 2.8 plenum right now. Will post pics when it comes out of the oven.

I had to go to storage today to get my spare starter and came across my old plenum, so I wiped it off, and snapped a pic of the reflection.

If I cleaned it up better, and put a coat of cat-piss polish on it, then it would be even MORE reflective. That cat-piss is some good shit.

GPRacer, that polish that you are using, that is the CAT PISS I was referring too. If I put a coat of that on my plenum, it would be almost MIRROR.

Brian P, and Lorenzo remember seeing it in it's prime.

Makes me want to throw my old 2.8 Plenum on my 3.1 just to see that shine again.

Ah, yea it's pretty good stuff!

Although I think the mother's polish in a small can (like the $12 one, but in a small can) is probably some of the absolute BEST stuff. If my valve covers were cleaned up on the '96 you'da been able to see, it's pretty much a mirror shine!

Right after i did my 3.1 plenum, this is at it's best. it really needs redone, but it's pointless, since one of the EGR bolt holes is stripped out, and it's getting replaced with a 3400 in about 2 months anyway
