Does any body remember the outfit that sells that really cheap Dynamat knock-off?

    Please let me know.

It was a cheaper version of the Aluminum foil backed Dynamat.

Some guys use the waterproof gutter tape you can get at Home Depot. You just need something to stop resonation.

Yea I used it on my truck. It works BETTER than Dynaman and is cheeper. Plus it comes in a roll which is alot more convienient.

Dynamat is just a brand name and is one of the worst ripoff's out there. All these products are is a Butyl membrane (think Butyl tape used in window glazing) with a foil layer on it.

yes but people with too much money that walk into a stereo shop will buy it.

for the old car i got the leftovers of a shop roll of brown bread (still had around 100sq/ft) for $100. i did my trunk and gave the rest to a buddy. it worked very well. i had another buddy buy 120sq/ft of E-dead for $200 off e-bay. it is almost identical to brown bread. he had 60sq/ft left over, so he gave it to me to do my "new" car

To quiet my car down I actually went to a Lowe's hardware store and picked up a roll of Heater Insulation.

I know you are probably thinking - wtf - but its a special type with an aluminum backing, and foam under it - with adhesive on the foam side. This stuff has worked wonders - and its about 15.00 per roll - 15 sq ft. and its easily accesible at a hardware store.

heres a link to the article that made me use it:

I used rubberized underbody spray. Nothing is easier than spraying:P

making a solid plate of metal heavier is less likely to vibrate which tends to reduce transmittance. I wonder if resilient channels would work only micro size.

It is more difficult to refect sound than it is to absorb it.
