Why do so many manufactures use the rocker system and not direct cam lifter set up? Isn't it less efficient, More moving parts?

You need the rockers to increase the ratio. How else do you turn a .200something lift into a .400somethig? If there were no rockers then the lobes would be huge.

That kinda makes sense... it also allows the manufacturers to make the engine a little shorter, not having the cam directly over the valve and lifter. It's possible some way that it's lower friction aswell? (just guessing on that one)

the 3.4 DOHC has no rockers:P Their weight however makes me wish it did have rockers and thinner lobes/lifters. Oh well, it all works.

That is the fastest rate im aware of so far I found the files I had cut down to a reasonable size, and zipped they are just under 5 megs. If anyone wants all of them but is on dial up, I can upload it as well. I think they are 1024x768.

The problem with the 3.4 is the cams and cam carriers they are absolutely hugh, way over designed, they completely and totaly dwarf any other DOHC V-6 and you can quote me. You will never have to replace a cam when you rebuild.
