I dont have any of the 3900 but I saved all the pics I could find of the 3.6. Ill upload them to the site since we have about oh....a shitload of bandwidth to burn through:P Its uploading now, and that takes a while.

You need the rockers to increase the ratio. How else do you turn a .200something lift into a .400somethig? If there were no rockers then the lobes would be huge.1993 EXT. CAB, 3.4L V6 TBI, 5spd manual. Sonoma

That kinda makes sense... it also allows the manufacturers to make the engine a little shorter, not having the cam directly over the valve and lifter. It's possible some way that it's lower friction aswell? (just guessing on that one)
