  • anyone into mountain biking???

    i just picked this up

its a cannondale super v800. it has a Headshok Super Fatty fork, Fox Float rear shock, Haze Comp hydraulic discs, 27 speed with shimano XT/LX Derailleurs with trigger shifters. it needs a couple things repaired (shifter cable needs replacing), but the thing rides extremly nice. i love that i can lock out the front fork, it makes the bike a lot more responsive if im riding on pavment (itll see very little of that)

w0rd. I have an old Trek 4300 and a KHS full-squish (XC204 frame built up with nicer shiz on it). Thinking of trading the KHS frame for a nice steel hardtail. Maybe a 29er.

    I haven't ridden in like 6 months tho. :-\

i havent ridden in 3 or 4 years. i pulled my old leader colombian (bought for my 10th b-day in 1994) and gave it a once over, discovering i needed to replace most of it. took it for a ride the other day, took a 4 foot drop, bent the frame, derailuer came off and jammed the rim up, bike went left i went right. basicly what i didnt need to replace before that needed it now. decided it was time for something i always wanted but could never afford.

I'd love to get into something sorta FR-ish, but I'm not sure I've got the skillz for that. Would be fun to play with tho.

I've got a Proflex/K2 4000 FS that I used to ride constantly when I lived in Connecticut (98-99). Since then, I haven't riden hardly at all. Maybe once the girls are old enough to take bike rides, it will come back out. But I doubt I will ever do the extreme riding again that I used to do.

I still love riding when I get a chance. Both my bikes started as bare frames an I built them up from there.
Fun bike is a Schwinn Homegrown 4 Banger (one of the Yeti bikes) with 4" of travel F/R, XT, Hayes hydraulic discs, etc.
More serious is a Giant XTC Comp, which is 100% carbon fiber. RS SID XC, mostly XTR, Crossmax wheels.....you get the drift.

Oh, and a Burley D'Lite trailer for Abby.

I just have a raliegh M-50 i bought a few years back... we have some pretty sick trails a short drive/ride from my house though that are awesome to ride on.... some are a bit too scary for me to attept though.... very steep. the ppl ive seen go down them bunny hop sideways down them... and they see to know what they are doing,so riding down them.. probably not a good idea.

ive heard about the fork and how they are known for cracking. im not to concerned, if it breaks ill replace it. for what i paid, i expect there to have to put some money into it over the next year.
