      Ouch!!!

I've not come across those around here before *knock on wood* but I've found a few black widows and there's plenty of wolf spiders... I leave the wolf spiders alone, they don't build webs and they keep the populations of other bugs down.

Past few nights there's been a wolf spider in the same area of the basement every night, her abdomen covered in baby wolf spiders.

I removed all the cable lines strapped to the out side of the house and will drop a line to the crawl space and place a spliter there to divide between the rooms with a floor corner mounted cable receipt. My house is regularly treated and I don't not kill king ants (huge ants like over a 3/4er inch long) or millipedes. I do kill carpenter ants and any spider. The reason I don't kill millipedes is they scare spiders and millipedes release cyanide which spiders are allergic to and die quickly.

Wow that vid may make the height of the door header plate shorter than originally thought, is it a 74 inch tall openning or are you close to 7 feet tall.

I live in a 3600 sq ft ranch with a 3 car garage, central a/c, finished basement, and about an acre of land fenced in. Its in the middle of yuppieville. I hate my neighbors, and I hate the people (family) that live with me. My wife and kids are oK they can stay, the cousins need to go. I hate how when one yuppie starts cutting his lawn the rest act like lemmings and they all start cutting their lawns. Whats worse is they cut the same lawn 4 times in a row, they just change direction on their patterns. These people need a hobby. You should see the looks I get when-ever I drag out my floor jack and start working on my car. I got 5 cars in my yard now, 2 in garage, 3 out. I'm crammed in their and need more room. And as far as the association is concerned, they can bite my ass, I never signed anything to them, I bought my house, its MY house, if I paint it sky-blue pink its my business and MY land, dont like it, leave. Come on to my property and tell me how to run it and I got a ruger to get your attention and winchester to get you while you run.

I hate my neighbors also! If I am working on the car or attempt to bring out the jack, the idiots across the street and down the road will pop there hoods, act like they know something and make their car/s worse than it was when they started. Then they come over to ask to borrow a tool... I wouldnt mind if they were friendly people that didnt come over when they only wanted something. I learned my lesson once before lending out a tool that I never got back. Sure it was a 50.00 tool that I sometimes used, but it is/was my tool and now I dont have it anymore!

My neighbors are the landlords, and they will not let me work on my car here. I have to go down the road to my parents house to work on them.

They, however, can do anything they want. The husband is mad at me because he needed help working on his bulldozer, and I refused to help him. I told him why too. You want me to help you, but you will not let me work on my things here?

Bout the only thing I hate about my house is the 80+ yr age. Great location but just age related problems. With that age comes 80+ yrs of "fixes" to fix.

perfect start to a BAD DAY!!!!!

Well, around 6:30 this morning, I heard the thunderstorm outside. One of the dogs is TERRIFIED of thunderstorms, and I heard her jump into the bathtub. I am used to this. Well, I then heard a weird noise like a BUZZZZZZZ. Then I heard a loud crash.

I got out of bed, and looked around. Notice a tree limb had fallen, but didn't care as it was in the middle of the driveway, and didn't hit the car.

I went back to my bedroom, and I smelled something. Something ELECTRICAL!!!!!

I went into my room, and noticed that my alarm clock didn't have power. I checked my camera battery charger. It is on a different plug on the same wall, but the house didn't loose power seeing my TV was on the whole time. Camera charger didn't have power, so I went into the bathroom to check in there. All the lights work, but one of the power outlets is dead. I then checked the light and outlet in the hallway, and it is dead.

Went to the garage and checked the circuit breaker. It had been tripped. I flipped it back and within 2 seconds, it had tripped again. Went back to the hallway, and pulled the attic door down and the smell of electrical was REALLY STRONG. I then went back to the garage, and flipped off the AIR CONDTIONING circuit breaker seeing that the main blower for the AC is in the attic, and if something is wrong up there, I want all power off.

I called the land lord right away. I didn't care if I woke him up. I got him over there, and we got into a "discussion" about what is going on. I kept telling him that there is a problem. I had the AC breaker OFF, but the blower was still running. He told me 3 times that if there was no power, it could not run. I then proceeded to inform him that if that is true, then why is the blower running? He FINALLY went into the hall and heard it for himself. He couldn't admit he was wrong either. Just that he might have MISLABELED the AC breaker. Said he had mixed it up with the stove breaker, but I went into the kitchen and the stove was fine.

He has now gone home and told me to just leave the breaker for my room in the OFF position. He will deal with it later. I kinda need my power in my room. That wall was the one that had my modem for the cable and rounter on it.

He does not really care seeing he wants me to move out anyways. I have a feeling that he is not going to fix anything until after I move.

I just kinda liked the homer simpson "D'Oh" look he had when he realized I was right about the AC blower running, and the circuit breaker was off and not mixed up.

Did you turn off the breaker for the AC or the furnace? Since most homes have split systems, there will be 2 seperate breakers for the AC "system". One (usually larger) for the outside condensor and one for the inside furnace/air handler (ie, fan). And unless you have electric heat, the furnace will only be a single pole breaker, whereas the condensor will be a 2-pole breaker. So there is a very good chance that you could turn off the breaker labeled "AC" and have the interior "fan" continue to run.

I looked for that, and I think that is how it is, but it is not labeled in the fuse box. That was the point that I was trying to tell the land lord.

I found the lower part of a wall in my basement was getting wet.. water seems to have made it through the sealed brick wall and through the vapor barrier. Of course there was mold behind the baseboard.
