we just got hit with some major snow and it takes me 20 minutes to get my windshield to defrost cuz my vents wont switch. im thinking thats my main vac. line going into the switch is bad or something. its stuck on the main front vents and wont send air anywhere else no matter if i have it on deforst or floor. it simply stays on the vents. i looked it up in my Haynes but it dont tell me anything. some input please

Its probably a modulator, not the main vacuum line. And there are several different modularos under the dash, so I can't tell you which one is which.-Brad-

I can see if I can look in my service manual (94 Beretta) to see if there are any diagrams or guides that I can scan in for you.-Brad-

Hope this will help... And if you have to replace the defroster vacuum actuator, I have you have a warm place to work.
And I just realized that it saved it upside down, so you'll have to rotate it after you open it (its a PDF by the way).Last edited by bszopi; 02-15-2007, 11:48 PM.-Brad-

I had the same problem.
Check the vacum hose that runs by the fender down by the battery. Mine was ate through by battery acid once. Trace it from the vacuum tank on up. That's the easiest place to look first.
Also if you have a leak from that hose breaking, does your trans seem to shift harder now when even going slow? That's a sign that the hose under the hook cracked/broke.
That's much easier to check there than to go under the dash ripping stuff out.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)
