  • What A Nice Day!

Worked all day. That went well. Got off, and it was so lovely outside. Birds were singing, sun was shining. It was so nice, I decided to make my drive home of 37 miles last a bit longer.

So I drove the whole trip on interstate 75 at 5-25 mph. What fun! I actually made my normal 40 minute drive last 2 1/2 hours! A lot of people felt the same way I did. A few of them even parked in the ditch to sit, and further enjoy the day. Even in Dayton, folks were parked everywhere. Sometimes at odd angles. I guess they couldn't wait to get out into the fresh air!

I heard on the radio that on interstate 70, everyone stopped! Must have been a carnival or something.

One guy was apparently having a bad day. He drove past everyone at a high rate of speed in his big SUV.

But, the nice weather finally got to him and he drove right into the median to enjoy a picnic. We all waved as we went by.

Even the Highway Patrol were out with their pretty lights flashing. Just like the 4th of July!

I had so much fun, I can't wait to go to work in the morning.

(I'll bet I can make it last 3 hours)

HAHAHAH! I was driving the el camino today cause I am a dumbass. The cutlass suspension is like a brick in the cold weather so instead of getting sick from bouncing around, I took the truck. It was fun trying to go up hills:P

Im glad someone else is enjoyin all this nice weather we are having

Yeah, the snow made my 3mile trip home from work take almost an hour.

        Pansies.

This was from two years ago. Thank god for snow tires.

And this year it has been well below zero for the HIGHS some days, as well as 4'-6' snow drifts.

I feel the pain. Nothing quite like having some idiot fly by and slosh dirty road slop on your windows, and then see him in the ditch down the road a couple miles.

Almost makes getting up and brushing the snow and scraping the ice off your windows worth it.

It hasn't even been cold enough here in the last two years to make me want to figure out why my truck's heat isn't working.

It's only February and I think we've already got the Post of the Year.

                  Here's to misplaced optimism!

Yea, Im ready for summer. First slippery day of the winter claimed a few parts on my beemer...ditched it, then garaged it.... im not taking ne more chances... the posi-RWD is not good on ice, now im trying to get by with my old truck (the 3100 is engineless) The last week has been below zero every morning, but old faithful keeps starting for me. Winter never used to bother me, but watching road salt eat away at every steel part of my vehicles just pisses me off, and im not so fond of the -45 windchills at night. warmth and dry roads.....soon..... hang in there guys.....

                      Feel free.

While you're at it, though, I might as well mention that I just bought the first jacket I've owned since my leather bomber dissappeared a year ago. Mainly for keeping dry.

GranSappy, today it was ~70 degrees outside, with strangely low humidity (for Alabama) and cheery, beautiful sunshine. I almost cried when I realized I wouldn't be able to get the car running without skipping meals and missing the first spring episode of Lost. Which wasn't happening.
