I am not about to plop a 50 pound fly in my getrag.
I used to power shift my beretta without using clutch at all only in first.
i'd like to know how you powershifted without the clutch at high rpm...
i can only do it during typical "cruise" rpm's. i do clutchless shifting all the time and all of those are done at under 3000rpm...
downshifting however can be done easily during higher rpms, due to its pretty easy to get it lined up with the throttle while downshifting, but still im only ever doing this in the range of 2000-4000 for downshifts
now you say powershifting, yes shifting without lifting off the gas yes i can see that. but shifting without using the cluch while powershifting that just doesnt work. you need to let the engine revs drop while clutchless upshifting to get into the next gear, not keep in on the gas. you'd just never get it into gear this way.
the SSR, as far as i know is only an Auto, ive driven one. thats the way they are built on the complete new T truck (trailblazer, Envoy, Bravada) chassis. which doesnt feature a manual... so i dont see any reason gm would change the platform to cater to the small low volume the SSR uses of borrowed chassis from this platform to specifically throw in a 5spd setup in the mix. thats just how bean counters look at things and how these type of decisions are made in the genrals layouts.
Synchromesh is a synthetic blend.

Well, don't the Colorado and Canyon feature standard manual transmissions?
So there is a chance that the SSR may have the manual? I wouldnt even consider purchasing one if it didnt have the manual. I would rather drive a Geo with a stick then a Camaro with a automatic. Same with the SSR.

I do not mind autos. They can kick anyone ass is shifting speed an consistancy. The only fall back is usually the limited range of gears. But now there is a maker building 7 speed autos for Bentley and such. Gm makes all the 5 speed autos for BMW and a stout 6 speed is on the way (it was in CHP magazine).
