  • Ice Storm Destruction

Although the ice storm is hopefully over, I doubt the destruction is... Anyway, here are a few pics from around my house, including a few of some nice new dents in the Beretta thanks to some 4" diameter limbs...

Once it gets warm enough that I can actually take the car cover off, it will be interesting to see all the damage. I noticed several other rips in the cover, but those 2 are the ones that stood out the most.

    Oh man!! No!!

Yesterday I spent hours getting all the ice off the beretta and shoveling the ice off the 45* angle driveway. It was breaking up pretty easy since the driveway is blacktop. Then it poured rain and I was eventually drenced through my army coat but kept going for a little while. I noticed the rain was melting stuff. I should of let the rain do all the work! Surprising, the rain didn't freeze again. But a little snow.

I hope the damage is less than it seems. Ripping a car cover sounds like it hit very hard..

Time for a car port. Hope the damage isn't too bad. Are you going to claim insurance on it?

You are lucky Brad. My 2 kids in Springfield, Mo., are still without power. That part of the country is notorious for huge ice storms. The one in 1987 was a bitch also. Here is a pic from Springfield on Sat. Then they got hit again on Sunday, and again this morning.

Yeah you guys have been getting hit hard with that stuff. This is the second time this winter my sister and family have had the power knocked out in St.louis and had to stay in a hotel(3rd or 4th time in a year). They seem to be blaming Ameren alot lately. Their glad they bought some insurance for this particular thing now.

So I'm sitting here, just minding my own business and hanging out in the chat room what a hear a huge thump on my roof... Go outside and this is what I find:

So its almost like I'm on borrowed time. Hopefully the power company gets out here before I loose power.

!!! ouch. No power outtage here. Jeff City seems to be pretty good in that regards. I did have the power go out for 2 secs and come back on though the other day. St Louis wasnt so lucky.

hopefully the car isnt as bas as you think (although preparing for the worst is probably best), its time for a bigger carport

i was hanging out at my parents house (they had power i didn't) on saturday and watched a 100' tall persimmon (sp?) tree go crashing into their fish pond

Well, finally took the car cover off to see the damage...

The 3rd pictures shows just how far it pushed down the hood, or perhaps that it could have pushed it down further... Yes, it did actually dent the heater fan case!

Oh, and the true sad part of the story is, we had lowered the insurance on it about 1-2 months before since I don't drive it anymore. And yeah, it only has liability on it now, so none of this is covered. Oh well, such is life...
