What kind of ideas for the members rides section?

Leaders are expected to be knowledgeable in their areas. There should be little reason to moderate posts or attachments but if someone does get out of line or starts posting the nude photos, you would be in charge of taking care of it. Or not, its up to you. I just want some more eyes on the site since brad and I aren't always on. We may setup a couple super mods that can do anything in any section. Hell, we may make every mod a super mod if thats what it takes to be able to do what needs to be done. Moving threads is about the biggest task I can think of but im not sure if you can move stuff outside your section(s).

Post some articles on the site itself and then link to it if you find yourself giving a detailed response to a common question. I just posted the GM top engine cleaner walkthrough again under engine tech. I haven't seen it posted in a while. Eventually I will break that section down into groups but for now, anything tech related, be it performance, maintenance in general, or just theory...it goes there. Anything specific to a certain motor like pulling a plenum on a 3400 would go under pushrod maintenance blah blah blah.

Hope that explains it well enough.

      Ben,

Transmissions is a smaller one to take care of, if no one is interested I could take care of it too.

      Just let me know,

It is done the same way as the rest of the forums, since the articles are basically in their own categories.

i was thinking about starting a "ride of the month" like the other car forums (aleromod, gagt etc). i know the homepage layout here is different so im not sure about having the winning pic posted there.

maybe even a get a calendar together, granted its kinda late for this year, but the proceeds would go towards keeping the site running or what have you.

Car of the month is an idea that has been around since we started. Car of the month could be a link on the site and it can have its own gallery section or something. We are still waiting for the garage software to be finished, which would make things a lot nicer for ratings and layout.

I didn't see a way to make moderators for the articles yet but ill look some more in a bit.

Wow, I definately wouldn't be my first choice for trannsmissions, or anything tuning related. But I'd still be up for moderating the events or engine swap category.

Darn, and I wanted boost!! The one's I probably wouldnt be too good at would be computers and trannies. Anything else, I'm down for. Marty, did you know I wanted to do boost so you had to speak up first?
Tuning a car is full of compromises. You must decide if you are willing to give up either reliability, performance, or a whole load of cash. Also remember that repairs will seem to come up much more often as you strive for even more performance

I'll volunteer for whatever you want me to do. I've gotten enough help on here over the years that its about time I give some back.

Just some background for those who dont know me (I lurk alot, but dont post TOO much). Im a supermod at Beretta.net and run/own gmfwd.com. Moderating isnt new to me by any stretch of the imagination. Been in the GM FWD game for oh....8 years now? Wow im getting old.

If not, thats cool too. Just thought I would offer.
