Hi. I am interested in ur 62mm TB for $400. Are you able to match the price of the one for $250 in the www.60degreev6.com/store

They have a complete billit unit for almost half of your price?

    Corey

And this is how they replied

Please don't take this the wrong way but the billet units don't work (at least we have not seen any that did), if you are considering buying those then get lots of customer testimonials. Our units are direct replacement OEM units and we have been selling them for 8 years, the price reflects our quality.

How many billet throttle bodies has RSM/Z-spec seen? 0? They told me that nobody sells poly bushings for control arms inside metal sleeves. If you look, they all do but RSM/Z-spec. Z-Spec are liars that change names and switch markets cause they suck. Actually, I take that back, Zsolt is a liar. I don't know about the rest of them but their marketing guy sucks.

the metal sleeve part cracks me up. Remember rougly 2 years when I was stupid enough to spend $450 + international shipping for ported uim/lim from rsm and it took 8 months to get to my door? I could done a better port job with a dremel bit. And i actually did a better job with a dremel bit on a 96 3100 UIM i did a few months ago.

Their port job was so bad I had to ship the lim/uim to Ben and have him do lim/uim the right way for half the cost rsm raped me for.

Was it all the lying and cheating that made rsm change their name to z-spec?

        UHHHH,

He asked you to get customer testimonials for the billet, and I am willing to say that I have one of Ben's 62mm Throttle bodies on my 3100 MPFI, and I love it. Granted, I did not buy it from Ben (I got it from Chris, and to my understanding, it was either THE prototype, or one of them to the ones they sell now).

I have it, I love it, and I think it was one of the best investments I made for my car.

        That, and RSM sucks

The one you have is nothing like what I sell now. These are done by TCE and are better than the old FDP units. Even so, the old units worked as well. I still have one here brand new.

Im not sure what all RSM did that they needed to change their name, but thye were selling upgraded ECMs that were actually stock programmed. The supercharger warranty issue was another big one. I don't know what else they have done but until they get out of the 60V6 community completely, we will have to deal with their bullshit.

A friend of mine bought one of their modified stock PCM's for his cutty, and it actually had some issues with it (none of them good).

I forgot about mine being an FDP one. Reguardless, I love it, people want it, and I will not give it up (at least not until I get a new one when I do the 3500 intake, but that will not be anytime soon, unless you want to give me one for my birthday, and christmas).

I've seen the TCE 65mm TB in person, if it wasn't off moonwell's car, and we weren't in my garage i would have jetted down the street and humped it a few times before giving it back. :P

hopefully i'll have one of my own in a few weeks.

I have no clue how they claim 62mm on their TB's. I had mine milled to 59mm and I can tell you there's certain spots in the cast with a wall thickness of 2mm, so I didn't have it opened further than that. So either they're sleeving it (doubt it, see photos), they are lying about the size, or there are about 4-5 holes in the bore.

And to add insult to injury, they charge $400, yet I've priced local shops that charge 1/8 of that for the service. I just hope people are smart enough.

I bought one from RSM 2 years ago, when the price was $300 cdn, and it is 62mm (well like 61.75 to be exact)i checked that right away. But I wish I would have waited for the billet unit from here.

i ran into a local guy with their s/c kit and PCM in his grand am 3400. the s/c drive system sheared bolts and wiped out the blower. and he had someone scan his PCM and they just basically turned off all the emissions controls and turned off the check engine light and the program itself for fuel/air/spark tables he told me was stock. so that alone would deter me. plus he bought it while they were RSM, and now as z-spec he contacted them and they refused to warranty the RSM kit.

Did they do anything with the exterior of the TB? There are "indents" just behind the mouth lip that will have no material at 62mm. Maybe they filled them in with molten aluminum, maybe they honed the edge to 62mm and tapered it to less in that area? I would have done it at up to 62mm myself but even going to 60 would have been too risky.

To add to the billet testimonials: I've been using a used FDP unit for a year now and the only flaw was that I couldn't use the OEM o-ring for the IAC (just a hair too big). I know the current ones are even more refined.

You can throw JBP in the hole along with Z Spec and RSM. Nothing but garbage ripoff companies that sell other peoples products they claim as their own.
