I had driven the car for a couple months with a spun rod bearing prier to this video.. At one point in the video I was doing aprox. 140-150 in 3rd gear ,my ignition system has a built in limiter at around 9 grand so weather it was that or the on the valves there was somthing that made it not rev any higher.. cant tell ya how high I was reving, wasnt quite paying attention to the tach.

Nice destruction, but you never got close to 7000 RPM in that video, let alone 9000 RPM. Hearing the engine tells me that much anyway. I'm also assuming 140-150 is KM per hour, since no GM car can manage 140 MPH in third. Looks like it ran on 5 cylinders for a bit though, which is impressive.I may own a GTO now, but I'm still a 60V6er at heart.

My bad, guess I didnt didnt hit 9, and how fast I was going is also tricky kuss I had no spedo, but my buddy in the vehical folowing me was doing 140-150 and he said he wasnt want catching up so I figure 144kph is a safe speed to say. I'd still be amazed to see a street legal V6 do 140+ in third gear and not do some type of damage to the drivetrain or your motor. Unless your gear ratio is set extremely high and you have no bottom end whatsoever. I know I've seen plenty of idiots float out there motors around here trying to show off or race some car they'd never beat, and they'll never run the same afterwards

I've always said.. untill i hit the limiter in the 1/4 mile i'm not moving it any higher. Besides, i'm switching to a 3.94 GTZ tranny so my theo top speed will drop quite a bit.
I have a feeling i'll be trapping close to it next spring...
