had a problem with the engine, but I should get it squared away next week. I can't wait to get it done either. I am ready to get it on the road, and see what it can do. Besides, the real test of the radio is on the ROAD in motion, and not just sitting there with the engine off.

and another toy joins my collection. UPDATED!!!!!

I was going through some pics in my computer and realized that I never did a writeup on my 1995 Cutlass Supreme coupe after I got it running. A long time ago, I had done a GENERAL write up when I had just gotten the car, so I figured I would do some before and after pics, and tell a little about the progress of this car.

NOW FOR THE PICS. I will start with the old pics again just to refresh everyones minds.

These are pics from the day I brought the car home. The exterior is not too bad. No major damage, paint is decent, and just rough around the edges. One funny thing is that BOTH exterior door handles were broken.

Now this is REALLY IRONIC. Here is a DOHC engine car, and the way you get to the interior is using a PUSHROD.

The first things that I did was get on ebay and get 2 new door handles so I could actually lock the doors, and open them easily.

Now this is the INTERIOR when I first got the car.

The interior was TRASHED, but it seemed to be nicely equipped. The AC, and RADIO was missing knobs, and had the buttons worn off. EVERY SEAT had a rip in them, the lid was broken off of the center console, the PRNDL was broken, and the dash had a HUGH crack in it.

As for the engine, it was just a standard 3.4 DOHC V6, but it knocked. The only interesting thing it had was the VARIABLE ASSIST POWER STEERING.

I did a lot of the changes in STEPS, but I am just going to post the finished product for them. If there is more interest, I will give full details.

Now onto the AFTER pics. Lets start with the EXTERIOR.

All I have done EXTERIOR related is replace both door handles, replace the lip spoiler, replace all 4 wheels and tires with 5-spokes from a Grand Prix, replaced the power antenna, and added DRL's. I also clay barred and waxed it.

This is a closeup of the Grand Prix wheels I am using.

And here is the custom DRL's. I made them light up the FOG LIGHTS instead of the LOW BEAMS like all the other cars.

Here is some of the INTERIOR pics, and just like with the EXTERIOR, I did it in STEPS, so I am just going to list it all out and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask.

First of all, the interior was TRASHED when I got it. All in all, I have conditioned the leather, replaced the center console with a 2000 GTP console, and shifter, but a buick regal GS knob, installed a HUD, converted the radio and speaker system to BOSE, added steering wheel controls for the radio, and did some painting.

the new AIRBAG which I got from a Silhouette.

And the BOSE amp and radio. The amp came from an Intrigue, and the radio came from an Aurora.

And finally the most important things, the ENGINE and DRIVETRAIN work.

When I got the car, the engine had a BAD knock, and a HUGH transmission fluid leak. A friend gave me a complete running 3.4 DOHC and 4T60-E from his parts car, and I just swapped them in, and did some minor tweaking. I put in a new timing belt and pulleys, and did some tuneup, and maintenence stuff.

All in all, not bad for only $300, skinned knuckles, free parts from good friends, and a LOT of cursing under my breath.

yup. Not sure if it was worth the head aches in the end, but at least it runs. I don't think I ever want to deal with a twin cam again.
