the right side of the unibody is pushed back 1/2", and i can tell that just by looking at the motor mount. its not worth fixing, i know the insurance will call it a total loss and give it dismantle only anyways, so it wont be rebuildable. im on the hunt for another car right now. i should hear something by tomrow from the insurance company.

Wow that really sucks, I really hope you feel better. Best of luck to you finding another 1st gen.

Take care, and make sure you get all your parts off that car. Don't let that insurance company give you any BS you have worked too hard for all that is in it.

i went back to work on monday, and im actualy doing a lot better now. the back is still sore, but im not having any problems working (i am a mechanic by trade) so i gotta be getting better.

im still fighting the insurance. they havent even looked at the car yet (it happened a week ago today) but they finaly got it towed in today. as i already said, i will be buying the car back. they cant do anything with it till i sign the salvage papers, so i will make sure i get it back.

a buddy of mine just called, he knowes were there is a decent looking 87 z24 hatch that he may have talked the guy into selling. i also have a line an rs hatch and 3 z24 coupes in various conditions, aswell as an 86 rs vert.

to tell ya the truth, im not a vert guy. my buddy has a turbo sunbird vert and i drive it every so often. other than the loud BOV, i dont realy like driving it, to much road noise. im after a hatch. doesnt sound like the guy with the 87z24 hatch wants to sell it, or at least sell it for a reasonable price.

                    the search continues

well, its official, the car is a write off. i got the call this afternoon, and the car is back home now. i dont know how much im getting, the people i hit havent reported yet. i dont know whats going to happen there, im just happy that ive gotten the car back and i can do what i please with it, except drive it. the damage is a bit worse than i thought. the motor was pushed back and the power steering pulley was grinding on the heater fan motor. the passenger door doesnt close, the entire a-pillar has been pushed back. it also broke the steering colum from the impact. my hoped are that the block isnt cracked (oil pan is creased from the tow trucks) and the tranny isnt too bad. i can honestly say, if the block is cracked, im calling it quits and getting something different.

yea, i was hit pretty hard. i was only going 20km/h, but 20-0 in 1" hurts. my shoulders and wrist still are sore, but they say thats normal. i can say though, i now know why you shouldnt drive with your hand on the shifter. i was in 1st with my hand on the shifter, and when i hit, the impact transfered through my arm right into my shoulders and neck.

by different, i mean probly into an import. ive always wanted a 300zx tt. that or i may look for a clean s10 and just leave it stock. im kinda realy down on all this right now, i just wanna hurry up and get the car parted out so i can get rid of it so im not looking at it and getting depressed over it.

"parted out" hmm... not to seem like a vulture... hows the forward header look? if alls well and not crinkled up and smashed, i could be convinced to part with some of the cash i've squirreled away for the set of headers. i'd take more off your hands (like the whole thing, lol) if you were willing but over the border stuff just isnt my thing, i likely wont have time off to pick up large items anyways. i think the next time i have 2 days off in a row is like, in 6 months.
