  • New guy from Florida

Just found out about this site. Looks really nice! I'll be around a bit learning about my 3400 and what it will take to make it a bit quicker.
I've got an '05 Grand Am SE...had it about a month now so the only things I've done have been cosmetic. I've ordered some aluminum piping so that I can fab up a CAI...I just can't bring myself to spend $200.00 on one! LOL! Anyway..here are a few pictures...never thought I'd buy a GA..but I'm really loving it!

sweet ride. im guessing you powder coated all the purdy stuff since, well... i dunno, lol. there are few things you can do to your car to make it a little faster, aftermarket for the 60 degree seems to be as big as it ever was, if not the biggest yet. spend some time on the forums you get an idea of all the parts swapping that people have done to get the fastest times. some of it takes a bit of work and ingenuity but there are lot of sucess stories from the presistant ones.

Yes....that's chrome powder and yes it's real..LOL! The powder is called Reflective Chrome. It will never compare to actual chrome plating but when you compare the prices and just how much the powder does shine and reflect...it's not a bad choice. Here are a few other pictures of parts I've done using it.

Looks awesome. I used to live in Panama City, lets just say us Dawg fans were like a needle in a haystack. Same thing here, i cant get away from these damn Auburn fans. What might you charge for the intake plenum and the cam cover for the 3.4DOHC to be powder coated with that chrome stuff? My best friend is a Marine btw. Where is your son stationed?

That's too funny! I'm from Panama City myself! Grew up in the Cove area but lived in Lynn Haven before I moved here to Pensacola. I don't know man...I think AU fans would be better than all the Gaytor fans here..LOL!

For forum members I'm going to do the plenum and valve covers for $120 +shipping.

My son is currently in Iraq....he is supposed to be back sometime in October but we aren't holding our breath...we are just praying! What abot your buddy...where is he?

                    Thanks,

My buddy is in Pensacola of all places. LOL!!! I actually lived in Calloway Florida, next to Tyndall AFB, but no one knows where that is so i say PC. I agree with the gator fan problem. I hope your son is alright and he comes home safely in October.

i went on vacation to panama city and pensacola once!

either way the car looks good, but would look a lot better w/o the front plate (nothing against georgia... i just hate front plates (perhaps its because illinois requires them))

Even though I love my Bulldogs...I'd have to agree. I don't care for front plates at all either. But...when I bought the car the dealer had a tag on the front of it. I don't know if they did it or the owner before, but they had drilled the two big ass holes for the tag bolts.... So since I already had the tag I figured it would look a lot better than either the dealer tag or those two holes.

I wanted a tag on my Z34 but i found out that they have to be at an angle, and that looked extremely ugly so i will have to deal with not having my UGA tag on there for now...
