  • My cars... Corsica, Lumina LTZ, Monte Z34, another Lumina...

    First up, my baby:

'88 Corsica 2.8L MPFI V6 - 97,000 miles now... Shes getting old Paint is starting to fail (typical GM....) but I hope to stop it this summer.

Next up, my '95 Lumina with the 3100 SFI V6. I bought this car a block from my house with a bad tranny for $150. Reverse wouldn't work and it only had one forward gear. It currently has 120,700 miles on it now and still running strong! I also have to detail and paint some things in the engine bay, but overall it isn't too bad. Oh yeah, also has the typical paint failure, which I'll touch up soon.

Then my '95 Monte Carlo Z34 with the 3.4L DOHC V6 - 149,340 miles... I bought this one about 30 miles or so from my house at a truck stop for $60. I plan to swap the 3.4L with a 3800 soon, I've given up hope on the DOHC, royal pain in the ass to work on.

Lastly, my '97 Lumina LTZ with the 3100 V6 with 216,920 miles. I paid $300 for it with blown lower intake manifold gaskets. I've put probably close to $400 into it on top of the car for some sensors, the LIM gaskets, new gas tank, and some new doors and a new hood (body parts have yet to be installed though)

You need more cars, as you clearly still have land vacant of a vehicle:P On that last one, check all the vacuum lines and the brake booster. That what normally causes high idle and too much leakage will cause it to not want to run cause the computer is not getting a good reading on the incoming air.

That corsica engine bay makes me cringe. Thats ok, the outside of my car makes me cringe too. Damn GM paint...and people hitting my car, and destroying stuff.

    Get that DOHC running

Believe me, there is no more driveway space here. I refuse to put them in the yard. Though I will admit, I have thought of paving over the whole back yard.

As far as the LTZ goes, I made a thread here in the pushrod forum. I'm VERY certain it isn't a vaccum leak. 99.9%. Brakes are firm, so it doesn't seem like it would be a booster issue.

I don't think I've ever seen an 18 year old car with an untouched engine bay that is spotless On a daily car though I really don't see a point in spit shining the engine bay weekly Anyways, I'll clean it up, it'll just take some time.

Honestly, I can't wait to get the DOHC running, but I have two Trans Am projects that are more of a priority I will soon though!

Hehe, thanks. My '78 Trans Am isn't immaculate, but it is pretty clean. It needs paint IMO, but it is fine for now.

Here are pics of the rest of them for those who wish to see. Yes, they're all drivers, so they are not perfect.

            '69 Road Runner 440 4-Speed

            Long Term Projects:

'69 Road Runner that I'm planning to supercharge. This one will be the last one to finish, she needs a lot of work, but a very good candidate for restification. I've started disassembly as you can see, 90% of the interior has been removed, as well as some of the body panels. The car is originally a 383/727 car, which is numbers matching and still in the car which will be replaced with a '67 440. Heres a few pictures I took of it when I brought it back from being stored in a friends garage.

'80 Trans Am WS6, originally a 301/Auto car. I bought it off eBay September '04 for $100. Originally I was going to part it out, but it's far too solid. It has some rust issues, but not enough to make it unworthy of a restification. It had no motor/tranny when I got it (previous owner blew it up and his parents made him get rid of it) and the junkyard he sold it to put it on eBay where I found it. I plan to put a 400 and a 4-speed in it.

            I love projects.

I didn't leave them out, I just figured they weren't related to GM's 60*V6's so I didn't post them. My neighbors don't really mind, except for when I wigged out on them last year when their son hit my '78 T/A with a softball.

Anyways, thanks for the comments. I've got the most labor invested into the '78, I spent all last winter hand sanding/polishing the snowflake wheels. Probably the best appearance mod I've done to it so far. Heres what the old wheels looked like on it, sadly I only was able to put around 500 miles on these tires before I got my new wheels.
