Just a little update. Motor is on a hoist in my garage. Got everything external off that I will be using from the motor in the car. Tonight I will be cleaning up the garage and pulling the car in and begin pulling the motor.

I am really trying to see a maiden voyage by Friday or Saturday.

New update. Got the car in the garage.

      I introduce MOLLY

The previous owner(a very good friend of mine) named her. And I agreed to keep it. So far MOLLY IS A PAIN IN MY ASS.

Well got the motor out. Was pretty simple.

Took a peek under valve covers everything appears as it should and is very clean. Went to drain the oil and got PURE SLUDGE. Decided to get an oil pan gasket and drop the pan to make sure that shit wasn't in my pickup tube. Good thing I did
Took 3 large can of brake parts cleaner and about 6 ruined shop towels to get pickup tube and pan clean. None of this crap was in the windage tray or on the rotating assembly. Crank, rods, and everything above the windage tray looked super clean. No carbon deposits anywhere.

Got the oil pan back on. Just doing some small things and then the motor goes back in. Maybe today but I am not feeling real ambitious.

Wonder if anyone will even read this. Kinda sucks how dead this forum is.

I'm reading. But if you were installing a turbo there would probably be more interest

Nice to see there are people still shuffling around here. There is such a massive amount of knowledge floating around this forum it just made me sad, the idea that it wasn't more active. Can't wait to start building the motor I just yanked out. Might take me a year or two but will be worth it.

Got the motor down in there. Getting it lined back up is being a pain in my ass. Had to leave it and come to my daughters t-ball game. I will get it when I get home

Are you doing the F23 swap right now or does that come later?
