  • former X-11 racer

    Hi Folks,
I have a soft spot for these little 60 degree V6 engines, had both a 81 and a 82 Citation X-11, the 81 was my daily driver for four years and the 82, a no option car, was my introduction to SCCA road racing in showroom stock B class and I did very well with it in spite of the fact I was a very inexperienced driver. I actually know very little about the engines themselves as all I ever did was change oil, filters, plugs and check the timing as you weren't allowed to modify engines in showroom stock class racing.
Now I am contemplating building a Track T style street rod, there are several companies that make many of the parts I will need in a somewhat incomplete kit form. I am mostly leaning towards a kit made by Speedway Motors and the V6 60 is one of their preferred engine suggestions. They say these cars can weigh as little as 1500lbs so my goal, if I go forward with it is to try to build it as light and aerodynamic as possible.
I will post this in the transmission section but my first question is: has anybody ever used a powerglide with this engine?

Not that I've seen, I think the only Auto that has the right bellhousing is the 700R4/4L60(e)
