Greetings all! Found this site while looking for possible performance builds on my wife's 03 Impala with a 3400. Hoping that this will help me accomplish my goals of keeping the 3400 "stock" look, but enable me to put a little bit of power under the hood for her. We do a lot of car shows with Wicked Effects Car Club out of PA so, having something off the wall would do me some good.

Welcome! How far do you want to go with it? N/A? Turbo?
Question for whomever since it is a W-body does this mean the LA1 is paired with a 4T65? non HD if so?14.63@92.9 -Full LX9 with CAI, 65MM TB, 2.5in DP, Borla Cat-Back, Crappy tires, Quick tune (Dyno Soon)

Yeah then it is a 4T45. That'll be your first problem. Either beef it up with blue clutch packs and some other things that Idk or swap the 4T65. Turbo is the route to go for most. Sounds like you got a pretty awesome wife!14.63@92.9 -Full LX9 with CAI, 65MM TB, 2.5in DP, Borla Cat-Back, Crappy tires, Quick tune (Dyno Soon)

Launching at WOT from a dead stop is the hardest on a trans. Power + inertia are not the friends of a fwd transmission. Gradually building power (like a turbo) is easier on it than instant neck snapping torque (like a roots s/c).
