  • New to the site, W-Body owner

    Hey guys, I'm Rob and i decided to sign up here and see what knowledge i can share and learn. I have owned several W-Body cars in the past as well built a 98 Monte Carlo 5 speed back in 2005, I currently own a 90 McLaren Grand Prix 5 Speed and just got a 92 Richard Petty Grand Prix with the factory 3.4 5 speed setup.

    quit hogging all of the 5 speed W-bodies!!!!

    1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!

      LOL! The tgp was auto, the Richard petty was my first factory 5 speed. I wish I had more LOL

        with the exception of A-bodies, W-bodies were the rarest of all platforms to come with factory manual transmissions... i think we all wish we had more of them. especially the masochists with LQ1/5 speed cars.

            The 92 is a lq1 with the 284. I got the car a few days ago with a bad clutch. What a stupid design that was... Pull style don't make much sense. I put a 282 out of a 94 cav with the 3.1 and the nice throwout bearing in my tgp to avoid having a fork pushing on the throwout bearing.

                I guess that is fine but my TGP has a push style with the hydraulic bearing and i can push that peddle with my pinky. If i had that trans on the ground i would make that setup for the 284
