  • New Guy Building an MGB With a 3.4

Hi Everybody, I have been lurking for a few months but just signed up today. I am in the process of building a 1975 MGB with a 3.4L engine and a 5 Speed T5 transmission, which I am picking up tomorrow afternoon. As you can see by the attached photo I have a LONG way to go! I will probably annoy everybody with questions so I thought I better introduce myself!

I put a 3.4/T5 into my Datsun Roadster. Made alot of mistakes along the way trying to find trans/bellhousing combination. The F body tilts the tranny at 17 degrees making the shifter come out of the side of the tunnel. Feel free to ask any questions, I've probably been there.
Drive it like you stole it!

I assume you are aware of the MGB Experience site with a forum for the specific issues involved in your swap.

This site is great for tech info on these engines and there are a lot of experienced people here willing to help out, if you remember to ask before you take a particular step.

I can probably help a bit, but my 3.4 is installed in a 1956 MGA, and there are a lot of differences in detail between that and the MGB.
