  • Fiero buildup - Cavalier replacement...

Nope, I didn't put the Rotrex kit on yet and maybe never will... ONTO The build....

Car, 86 Fiero GT 4 spd Muncie, VERY solid and in great shape. :

    Work done :

7730 ECM swap, easy enough, good writeups online...

Added a 3.5mm audio plug to the stock deck... if anyone wants to do this mod just google "ipod Delco radio" and shit will come up, it's easy enough to do...

Old wrecked Cavalier engine is IN (no blower) :

3" single mandrel bent exhaust. With dual 2" off of 3500 front manifolds to a true merge collector into 3" with a hi-flow Catco cat, no muffler. (yet) ? I want to see how loud it'll be with just the cat.

I am pretty happy about my exhaust, it uses two 3500 front manifolds... dual 2" w/ flex coupler to a 2" collector then 3" to a 3" cat and finally to a rolled edge stainless 4" tip. All mandrel bent.

It's all one piece fully welded, and can be installed / removed VERY easily, just a one person job.

Rode with that for a bit the police didn't like it. WAY too loud...

I decided to add a muffler and a homeade baffle..., I first tried to keep the baffle open on the end open, too loud, I capped it and drilled about (6) 1/4" holes into it, too loud, then I just welded it fully shut and I have the tone I want. Pretty quiet. About stockish... How much power was lost... ? read on...

here it is installed, you can see the red cherry bomb, it's a 8"X3" louvered core cherry bomb. haha It's all that I can fit...

    New Wheels 95 Z24

    Dyno Day :

I tried one run with exhaust baffle in, and one without... 213/225 vs 204/219

    Look at the torque curve.

    Thats a WOT cam 210/214 @ .506" on a 110 with Superdaves 3400 swap chip.

Runs awsome, very fun little car !

Might do some suspension work (lower, and swaybars) and MAYBE just MAYBE go ahead and put the Rotrex kit on it.

Very cool. So no retuning from a 3400 chip seems surprising but I'm glad it works so well. Getting a bigger sway bar for the front and moving the stock one to the rear is a big improvement. I like my battery up front but it may hurt you at the drag strip.

I'll send you a new tune for that thing, you could pick up another 5-10 HP with more fuel past 5K.

That tune is for a bone stock 3400.. haha

Sounds good though! I vote for the S/C on it.

Yeah man, PM it to me on V6.

It idles rich and gets not great gas mileage.

(my camaro on 60# injectors, 5K stall and a 3 spd auto gets better gas mileage on my Code59 tune)... heh I don't have a WBO2 on the Fiero so I haven't tuned it any further. Should get one though....

Yeah that's the dilemma, I want the kit bad but I just can't foot that bill.

Ok, So I sold the Rotrex kit and with that I also included my old cam.

So Motor is out so I can ship the cam..

Went with a custom WOT-tech Comp regrind.

                        Intake 230* @ 0.050 .576" lift
                        Exhaust 236* @ 0.050 .571 lift

                        on a 112 LSA

Likely will bump the power up a tad.

Can't wait to re-dyno with the new cam, I'm hoping for 245 WHP. I know headers will get me there, but don't feel like building yet another set....

Very nice indeed. That's about what I'd like to do to a Fiero for a daily driver.

I bet it's fun with the 4 speed!

                              Kinda hoping it'll run 13's.

Not sure how the 4 spd. will shift at 7100...?
