I normally use a razor blade laying almost flat along with brake clean and compressed air.

I do that too, razor blades. I use the thinner square blades. They wear faster but they do not damage metal as much as the stronger blades for tool knives.

They also have plastic razors which are really neat for soft aluminum. Find them in a paint store.

I also tried magic erasers and they work pretty well.

That's a neat idea, I never thought of that one.

I also got one of those buffing/polishing kits for a die grinder from Harbor Freight and the 3M like pads worked really well for taking gasket material off, but the polish swirls gave me the impression that metal was being removed, so I'm kinda apprehensive about using them again.

Never use steel wool or the scotchbrite pads on mating surfaces (aluminum). If you want something machine shops use, get the 3M bristle disc setup. White and yellow are milder than the green ones.

              That's actually good to know.

Next time I tear into the block I'm gonna get some of those, thanks.

How do you like the getrag (282?) with the LSD? I've just barely started to drive mine here and there. Big difference from the automatic

Onces was because i was sick from the night before and i was puking while driving.lol

With the LSD from Ep you can really feel it hook.even in the rain well the one time i did drive it.

Been a little busy lately, but Ben said he's going to try to get the rings drop shipped to me from Total Seal, crank scraper is on the way and I'm going to get some other stuff done on the car while the motor is waiting for parts, like spray a little paint in the engine bay and such. I also hope to get the heater core pipes and fuel lines soon from a Bnet user.

Robert the clutch did show up last week I forgot to tell you that. I was about to return it till I saw the tag stating it had been bolted down for testing purposes since I could see where washers had removed paint, I was like WTF its used? LOL. It looks good and I'm just simply amazed at how little clutch material will hold power...

"I'm just simply amazed at how little clutch material will hold power" - I thought the same thing when I received my Spec 3 Clutch. 6 Puck design good up to 500 hp. Amazing, 12 small little areas where all the power is transfered through.

This appears even less than a six puck... That at least has 6 little pads... look at what a Clutchmaster Stage 3 looks like.

The light tan is the clutch material, NOT the dark brown.

I think I'd be happy with the FX200 for my Legacy

But $625 is insane... I can get that price from Fredbeansparts.com... Clutchmasters wants $735 direct.
