  • My 1988 Grand Prix SE *NEW PICS DEC 9th*

I hope everybody posts their cars up here, and since it was my suggestion for this forum I'm happy to be the first anyways.

These pics are from summer 2002, when I repainted my car with Tremclad Automotive spray paint. While it looks better than before, the Tremclad needs to be waxed every car wash to look shiney, and the paint actually washes off cause it sucks (a couple dozen car washes and its gonna start to look bad). I wash my car with shampoo (that you use on your head).
The wheels have been repainted aswell with wheel paint/clearcoat, and they turned out great. They still look great to this very day. I'd recommend it as a cheap alternative to getting aluminum wheels sandblasted or whatever. I don't really have any good pics of them though, cause my dig cam is cheap and the only pics on the site have lots of glare.
My interior has the removable plastic pieces (vents, button covers, etc) painted red. Red seat covers and read floor mats. I'm in still in the process of painting more of the interior red and black.

    NEW PICS

ok these were taken with my CRAPPY Walmart digital camera. Some of the colors are a bit off (orange should be red) as well as too much glare. Painted ground fx and ghetto spoiler, some interior stuff (painted vents and other plastic parts, steering wheel with buttons). Engine dressed up a little bit. Closeups on the Duplicolor painted wheels (they were basically just painted over the old clearcoat). *Again anything orange should be RED but my camera sucks*

Maybe you shouldn't have posted so many in this thread. Post a couple and then refer to a site for people to look at the rest of the pics. That way the BW won't get used up as quickly. And personally, I didn't need to see so many repeat pictures where the only difference seemed to be the distance away from the car from which you look the pic.

LOL I did the body work and repainted it myself. Since I didn't have much time or money I did the body work half-assed, and now it needs to be redone (hoping to get a grinder for Christmas).

I painted the car with Tremclad automotive spray paint. It actually looked great at first (people told me it looked like it was painted by a pro).. but as the months went by the paint faded and looks more dull now. Everytime I wax it a small layer of paint comes off.. Tremclad sucks.

Anyways I hope to redo the bodywork (properly) in the spring, and put a fresh coat or 2 of Plasticote (or if there is better spray paint.. I dunno) over the entire car and I'll be putting clear coat on it this time over. I think it will look much better.

If I'm useful for anything on this forum, its spray painting.. and I'm sure the fumes have killed some brain cells by now too .. LOL

yeah I did... and it didn't turn out half bad either (except for the bodywork falling out, but thats my own stupid fault). After I painted it I wetsanded down to 1800 grit and used my buffer along with rubbing compound and polish.. I'd say about 75% as shiney as a "real" paint job. (Its in need of another coat of paint now.. looks dull on those picks ). If I redo it i'm gonna smother it with clearcoat.

I'm only 20 and I don't have much.. umm.. $$$ .. the old paint was pealing and looked like shit. Its an old fucking car with a 2.8 and its slow, so if you have a problem with spraypaint all I gotta say is
