  • My 60 degree projects

This is my 85 cutlass supreme I picked it up for 650 with a little body work needed. It has about 70k miles on it now. The plan was 3400 turbo and a 700r4. Recently I decided to revieve my 89 z24 that had blown up and it easier to swap a 3400 in that. So the new plan is 3500, turbo, 7730 ecm, and now I am thinking of using a t5 manual. I want to make 500 horse with this build eventually. I know the trans and my 7.5 rear will be the week point but I can replace them later. The goal is power, but still get good mileage and driveable on low boost. Her she is.

This is my 89 z24 it is originally from north carolina, so it doesn't have the typical Iowa rust. A couple of weeks ago I decided to swap in the 3400 to make it driveable again and one thing led to another. Before I knew it I had it sanded down and sprayed satin black. The main reason I did it was to get rid of the surface rust and make it all on color. I am having clutch problems now and I still have to tune it but I am glad to have her back. My little girl was helping me wash it up.

    Cute kid and nice cars

I had a white '80 Calais 2 door with an Olds 307 in it. I miss that car...

that cutlass is screaming for a LSx swap.. 3500 turbo would be cool though.

the T5 won't hold 500 HP, grab an adapter plate and use a T56.. you'll be in good shape then.

Thats a nice cutty man. I would love to see it with a turbo'd 3500 or turbo'd 3800 serII under the hood.

BTW... you can use a 2.8l bell-housing from a 3rd gen camaro and attatch a TKO600/500gm 5-speed for about $1000 less than using an adapter plate and a t56. The clutch-plate and flywheel are straight "plug-n-play" from a 4th gen v6 camaro.
Took a break from working on the car. Got some better tools, got a better shop, got a better job... Its time to burn metal!
