  • Another New Guy

Hey all I'm John. I recently purchased a 2001 Olds Alero, and found this site while searching about the Alero. Looks like a great site with lots of good info. Looking forward to talking with you guys about this car. Thanks for having me and heres a picture of my Alero.

Welcome! Definitely a clean looking car. So do you have any plans for it yet?

Thanks for the welcomes guys. As for plans, I'd like to get a cold air kit and maybe do something with the exhaust to make it sound alittle better, but before I do that I need to figure out why my engine light is on

Welcome! That is a nice clean looking car. As for the engine light, Advance and (as much as I hate to mention them) Autozone do free code scanning and can tell you why it's on.

Thanks. I have an OBD II scanner and it says I have a Emission Equipment Leak (small). Where would I start to look to solve this problem. Anyone else had this code come up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've read where the small leak needs some sort of a smoke test. As for how you do it or the equipment involved, I've no clue. My mom's RAV4-S that she uses for mail delivery has the same code and for some smart reason any time the SES light is on Toyota has the thing disable AWD... :/
