  • New DD, less boat anchor, more 660! :D

I don't really post too often, though I lurk quite a bit. My main car of interest is my 93 Beretta GT with 3400 and 5 speed, posted in teh sig, and lately as a DD I've been cruising in a 98 Lumina LTZ with the ole 3800 boat anchor. While it was a nice car having leather interior, and being rather quiet - it is also a big old 4 door with a gas guzzling boat anchor under the hood.

Here's the boat, I'll be giving it to my dad as he's looking for a work/winter car:

After some searching and looking for a few weeks I found myself another 93 Beretta GT, the guy was wanting $1500obo and with some talking I managed to get him down to $1100. The car has a 3.1 with a 3t40, and has disappearing white paint and blue interior. It is a bit of a fixer-upper on the outside, but overall the car is pretty clean with fairly low rust, especially being an Iowa car.

    Here are the first photos:

White crosslace wheel (a first in my 8 car/11 year Beretta history) cleaned up:

Pretty clean blue interior, another first for me:

Suspected aftermarket replacement fender gone to shit:

    Stock and semi-dirty engine bay:

    Rather clean undercarriage:

Overall I feel like it's a good deal for $1100. It needs body work, and I've already got a good oem fender pulled for it and the hood is in my shop ready for sanding. New Moog endlinks, new shocks, a new front spoiler, snow tires on black xlaces and a modded airbox intake have been put on the car in the meantime. I've also got a z51 rear swaybar that will go on it when I get some new bushings.

    Cleaned up engine bay:

With black xlaces, different front spoiler and my spare hood:

Nothing will help this thing more than some white paint, which I'm hoping to spray Friday morning. So I'll save on more pics until the paint has dried. I'm also going to spray the one silver xlace wheel white to make a matched set. Then I have to decide between 16" GTU wheels, 16x7.5" eagle 8 spokes or the white xlaces - for putting summer tires on. This thing certainly won't be taking the place of my other 93 GT... but I am happy to have another Beretta for my daily usage. Plus it's very cool to have a reminder of what the black car used to be if I ever start feeling like it's getting slow or boring looking. And I really used to think my 3.1 auto was pretty quick. Haha.

    14.60 @ 96.33 for now...
