  • 92 Turbo Charged rs camaro with full 3.4 swap

    1992 rs
    3.4 swap
ross forged custom pistons .060 over
    ported heads
    3.4 oil pan and intake
megasquirt 1 v3.0 with full timing control and launch/antilag
    custom cam

    pro fab built turbo system
    installed and tuned by me/pro-fab

ill post up pics of the build n stuff later but heres some vids of the tunning and some part throttle runs and the antilag stuff

just some various clips put together from our first drives in the turbo maro

cant get on it to much as the clutch slips at anything more then about 1/2 throttle above 3psi and its a ram clutch, but a spec stage 3 or 4 will be in the car soon prolly the spec stage 3 since its holding capacity is the same as the stage 4 680ftlbs except the stage 3 has a sprung hub instead o solid and comes in either 3 or 6 puck confiurations

yeah the clutch slips horribly its not a stock clutch either its a ram hd clutch supposed to be 30% more holding capacity.car is getting a new spec clutch shortly. car still moves out for only beaing able to oto 1/4 to 1/2 throttle and only 2-3 psi tops. i got some new vid clips from a ew hours ago that ill post later u can hear and see how bad it slips in those

why not go for the unsprung hub? i put one on my awd talon back when i had it and liked it. people complain about the sudden engagement but it's really not as bad as they make it sound. the lack of springs is also a reliability plus.

trying to take it easy on the t5 transmission for now i doubtit will like the added driveline shock of an unsprung hub.

car is going to have to either get a tko 600 or and upgraded t56 swap soon

no the ds is unequal lenght middle tubebeinng the shortest front second longest then the rear tube, i had an equal lenght design drawn up but the mandrel bends were not tight enough on the radiuses to build them

this style header works exceptionally well even over my old design with 2foward facing headers spool is about 600+ rpm sooner

ill post up more pics i just need to resize them

heres a better pic of it for ya

i am going to have to start a new build thread soon i have a new motor comming together that ive been keeping under wraps for a while

                  3.4L block
                  2.8 Crank
                  h beam rods
                  j.e custom slugs 10.5-1 cr
                  solid roller cam
another sheetmetal manifold 2 injectors per cyl
and the biggest part of it is the borgwarner turbo ,which is a custom built unit basically its t6 s475 with a t4 hotside and a 75 or 81/83 or 85mm compressor wheel

Great start to a great project bro!
S475? WTF MAN!!! Thats humongous, even for a turbodiesel pickup as a single.
                    Ever thought about twins?

Im thinking something like your project for a blazer, but im using a 3500 top end on a 3.4 as a hybrid, hopefully MS3 running sfi, T56 if someone makes a damn adapter plate by then. And hoping to get deep into the 11's. All the while still bangin on these frickin hondas that overpopulate my town

If you want a 2.8 crank in that, dont forget that youre gonna have to use longer rods to make up for the difference in piston heights.
With the help of ALLTRBO we figured that I could use 3100 pistons (same piston height as 3.4/3400's) on my 2.8 crank, and this would carry over to you.
So you would need 5.85" long rods.

10.5:1 comp on a humongous turbo? You're fºckin crazy man...

i forgot to mention it will run low boost on pump gas with methanol and eventually it will be switched over to run on e85 thats how i can get away with the high compresion. we have guys running 12.0-1 and as high as 13.5-1 with 45 psi of boost on e85.

i dont need longer rods as i went with a custom piston, i was going to go with a longer rod but the shorter rod let me move the piston pin down to give thicker ring lands

speedway motors makes an adapter to use a th350 trans which is also the same bolt pattern as the t56 or a th400 etc its 60 bucks for the adapter so u can use that

                      the turbo i went with has a 83mm turbine wheel with a 80mm compressor basically a upgraded s475 with a t4 hotside

TKO600 w/ .62 o.d. is an awsome tranny. Best of all, having a 2.8l f-body means that you already have the correct bellhousing to boot. With the exception of a possible trans tunnel moding, No adaptetrs needed. You can even use the spec clutch/p-plate for the 3.4l camaor. straight plug-n-play.
Took a break from working on the car. Got some better tools, got a better shop, got a better job... Its time to burn metal!
