to keep it simple i'd swap over the lower and upper intakes from your 2.8 and also the distributor. This is just to get it running/driving.

Pretty much. The car will run, but to realize it's best potential a good tuning after it's complete would be in order.

well thats understood yea so im having troubles starting now :/ with the 2.8 in it my dad says its the fuel pump and id have to agree with him i dont hear it kick on when i turn the key we put some sta-bil in it hoping that would rustle up the gas that might be bad in there since its been sitting for a while uh so is there anything that im missing that could make me having troubles with starting it? turns over fine and if we give it some starting fluid in it itll run for about 3 seconds lol

Sounds like a fuel issue if it runs on starting fluid. Check the rail to see if you have fuel pressure. Also, if the gas is already bad, Sta-bil won't bring it back to a usable state. I started my wifes old 95 T-bird that has sat unattended for ~2-3 years. I was shocked it started, so gas probably has a longer shelf life than I realized since I didn't use any stabilizer in that car.

That was probably before the new fuel mandates. Now they have so many oxygenates and other additives that long term fuel storage is pretty much a thing of the past. You know how it is, we all have to preserve endangered Californians now.

What's crazy is everything in Cali is known to cause cancer. I'm starting to think just living there is what's causing all of the cancer...

Yeah, but the tests show that in "...lab rats, may cause cancer...", I want to know how they are sure it will in humans too, and why man keeps giving cancer to rats in California?

Since this isn't some rare one off special edition, I'd recommend making an access panel in the rear to reach your fuel pump. Getting the fuel tank out of one of these sleds just isn't worth the hassle unless it's absolutely necessary. I also recommend the urethane bushing for the front of the torque reaction bar.

getting the tank out is not that bad, I would NOT suggest cutting an access cover. People have been doing it for years but with a little more time you can do it the right way.

Yeah, the right way. Lower the axle, drop the exhaust, remove the heat shields and then hope you don't tweak the fill pipe breaking the joint at the tank getting it out and in. Plus, you have to have the car well lifted in the ass or on a lift to do it. Making the access doesn't have to be a hack job. I guess it all depends on how many times you anticipate accessing your fuel pump.
