  • Completed project

Ive finally completed my project ive been working on for a year on and off. As time and money permitted. I started with a stock 95 Z26 and started modifing. First I went and put a 3400 in out of a 99 gagt. Then I used a w-body 3.33 geared tranny that cobo was nice but i wanted more. So I started my manual conversion and headers and added a few other things. Here is a list of everything so far.
    99 3400 sfi
    282 5 speed swap
    zoom clutch
    fast forward performance ud pulley
    custom headers (reworked tog headers)
    2 1/2 crush bend exhaust
    flowmaster 40
    egr conversion plate
    wai
    rk sport poly insert mount
    ffp lower poly dogbone mount
full poly suspension bushing kit (swaped to pre 94 style front end)
    eibach pro kit springs
    front and rear strut bars
    30mm front sway bar
    180 degree thermostat

After completing the car I took it to a 1/8th mile track and got a best of 9.662 @ 75.707 mph that was with a crappy 2.302 60' (spinning with wheelhop) and full interior. The next thing I need it good tires and that time should improve some.

How does the car compare to other N/A 60degree cars in the 1/8th mile?
Mods: 3400 sfi , Ffp pulley, wai, flowmaster 40 series, 2 1/2 pipe, 5 speed conversion, 180degree therm. rk sport upper insert, poly dogbone, reworked TOG HEADERS
    1/8th mile 9.386 @ 78.138mph

last year i was running 9.4xx 1/8ths at 75.X mph and one 9.3 1/8th. that was with stock manifolds still though.

im working on my headers right now.

did you post pics of your car a few months ago? you were in the process of swaping in the 5spd? yeah you had to modify the headers to make them fit around the 5spd im assuming...

That is pretty much identical to my best 1/8 mile, well 2/100sec. quicker
IMO its a little on the slow side considering your mods, perhabs some tuning would help. It also depends on the elevation of the track.

With headers and the UD pulley I would have expected low 9's.

That's moving on pretty good, you must not have a local 1/4 mile track to be running the 1/8th. Nice trap speed for that time...I've ran a 9.377@74mph in my 1990 Turbo Grand Prix(chip, intake, exhaust) just for comparisons sake..on a 2.1 short/60' time.

That is definately nice. The best I've done in my Turbo STE is a 9.484 @ 75.42mph...that was with a 2.228 60'. So really that car isn't doing too bad. I would estimate about 14.4's in the 1/4. Probably 14.2's or so with a good launch and good conditions.
