  • After 50-60 miles of datalogging and tuning the last 5 mornings i hope it's worth it.

Still randomly stalls at stop lights, it's a lot more tame on the highway though. Pretty sure i pushed it a little too far today on highway mode fueling, 39 degrees of advance and saw AFR's in the mid 19's.. Couldn't stop to add fuel so i had to keep kicking in AE to get the AFR's safe. Still no knock counts but the coolant temp started to get a littler warmer than normal. I need to go through and double check my math but for a few miles i was getting about 37 MPG.

      • got rained out, weather looks good for this Sunday though!

I wired in a 2 bar MAP to monitor crank case pressure, it'll be interesting to see if the crank case evac setup actually pulls a vacuum, and what if any difference there is between having the cutouts open vs closed.

Still working the bugs out of a BFAU based tune (latest and greatest $A1-Auto binary). Finally going to be able to use the launch mode settings to try for better 60's

          • nope, i did datalog some quick WOT runs up to 5K or so today, crank case pressure hit 99kpa with 93 as a baseline so i'm pretty sure the slash cuts aren't working all that great. The cutouts are closed but the exhaust is extremely free flowing... I'll know more tomorrow after a few runs down the track.

72F and overcast.. can't beat that.

            • 93 baseline meaning 93kPa barometric pressure?

              • Yah, that's what it read before i started the engine. At idle it sits between 88 and 90, really not much change there. high RPM when the exhaust is really flowing should make a difference but we'll see.

the old school guys claim 2-5" of vacuum produced by them, i just don't see that happening.

                • do you have them hooked up to both valve covers or just one?

                  • Both.

The slash cuts are right after the X pipe on each side, and they run up to the old PCV and vent fittings. If you take one of the lines off the valve cover and stick your thumb over it there is a vacuum for sure, you can stick a piece of paper to it.

awesome, that's what I needed to know, mine plan isn't to pull a vacuum on the crankcase, but just to keep air moving and my oil clean.
