  • Finally dug the car out this week and ordered up some new goodies. I took video of the first fire, it was ugly enough not to post up.. lots of smoke, fowled plugs, etc..

New jack (my Craftsman one took a crap for the 4th time, out of the warranty period this time) http://www.northerntool.com/shop/too...5429_200345429

    Crank case evac kit; http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-120108/
    Universal Exhaust kit; http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-670145/
    Pair of V bands; http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-694225/

    Few other small things too.

All new exhaust will come first once the parts arrive, fix the trans leak, swapping on a better timing cover, new water pump, possibly new alternator and PS brackets, general wiring cleanup.. and oh yah, possibly a new set of wheels..

Kenova, longtubes to 2.25" pipes, Y'd into single 3" to a Hooker Aerochamber (Hooker Supercomp catback)

It's getting 2.25" true duals, X pipe and a pair of regular Aerochambers. There will be minimal performance gain, just looking to get a better sound out of it. I had TD's with this engine in my Cavalier and it was a monster.

                    • New exhaust is getting there, still need a few parts like the V bands which are on back order from Summit. Crank case evac stuff is installed right after the X pipe, just need to run the hoses. You can kiinda see them in the pic. Wideband o2 is installed in the center of the X pipe.

Not perfectly symmetrical but damn close, had to try to leave room around the trans pan to get to the bolts. I should have 3-4" of ground clearance once the car is off the jack stands.

Waiting on some 3 bolt flanges to weld on the ends of the mufflers so i can make the tailpipes removable.. just in case i ever have to drop the tank.

I also relocated the fuel filter up to the fitting just off the top of the tank, Now i'm braided stainless almost all the way.

Got some other things going on in the engine bay; relocating the alternator, PS pump, ICM/Coils, New timing cover/water pump, redoing some wiring and cleaning/painting quite a bit of things. Should be a fun spring.

Looks great! Are you putting turn downs off the mufflers or are you going over the axle?

                        • Thanks.

Over the axle, I want as much tailpipe after the mufflers as possible. Probably just going to use some stock style turndown tips painted black again... i think i've grown out of the big shiny exhaust tip stage. lol

Also fabbed up new mounting brackets for the PS pump and alternator. Both are tucked in on the drivers side of the engine now. New pics of that soon.

                              • Sweet, i'm about at the point where i'm going to need it. I can send you the cash whenever, i just wanted to make sure you had the right one in hand.

Once the accessory brackets are done everything is coming off the front of the engine for bead blasting/paint/powdercoating etc.... Probably next weekend or so.

                                Thanks
