Or better yet air bags. One of my friends had a car he put hydraulics on and said it was the biggest most expensive mistake he's ever made. Reason? Hydraulics have no compression over bumps because fluids don't compress, air does. Air is also cheaper than hydraulics, and lighter, which is another reason the import guys use it.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

i'm going to take it in to a shop this week to get the rear gears changed out and have a few things taken care of, after that and a much needed alignment i'll get back to posting vids. The V6 bash is coming up, almost time for dyno numbers.

3.73's, it's got 3.42's right now which are pretty nice but the 3.73's will put me further into the power band towards the end of the track.

I've no idea what the gearing is like in your transmission, but with the gearing and tire size in my Ranger I sit about 77mph (on the speedo, so 72 actual) at 3k rpms in 5th. Hopefully you don't do much long distance modern highway driving with that beast, lol.-60v6's 2nd Jon M.

4 speed auto, highway should be no problem, even better with the TCC locked up.
I'm expecting to trap around 110, that should be a little under 6K RPM in 3rd
shifting out of 1st at 6500, 2nd drops to 3462 RPM (43 MPH), 3rd to 3988 RPM (81 MPH) and 4th to 4550 RPM at 132 MPH.. all well inside my power band.
My converter is built to stall between 3200 and 3500, engine makes max torque around 3200 and max power past 7K (trans shifts at 6500 so i'm limited there). Overall it should really haul ass down the track. might even lift a tire or 2 if i launch it hard enough.

After looking at my old dyno graphs i remembered that it peaked around 4700 but to keep it streetable the designer suggested a 3200-3500. It fits pretty good with the 700R4's gears.
@ 3200 it made ~230 ft-lbs @ the wheels, @ 4700 it was making 250,@ 6500 it was making around 230. the curve was so flat that it should be fine... I'll find out soon how much difference the ITB's made though.

with your gearing being
3.06:1, 1.63:1, 1:1
for first second and third... and 3.42's in the rear, your at Final drive of
10.46:1, 5.57:1, 3.42:1
With my 60e I'm 3.69 final drive ratio, and gears are
2.92:1, 1.56:1, 1:1
so that puts me at
10.77:1, 5.75:1, 3.69.1... so I'm not that far off from yours, BUT that may be irrevilant to my ovservations since your spacing isn't too far off from mine at all... With your said 3200 stall Torque converter, you seeing a 6500 shift drop to 3462rpm... With the same shift RPM on mine I'm dropping down to 4,818RPM and then 4,946RPM from second to third.
I have to be way out of my peak torque and too close to peak HP and thats probably causing part of my wheel spin issues.

275 WHP was my best with the 5 speed with a 15% loss from a HM282 is around 316 HP
Dyno today was 263.1 WHP, with about a 25% loss from the 700R4 that's about 330 HP @ the crank. I'll post the datalog and video after the v6 bash is over but you'll see in the vid there is strange things going on. I think my trans is slipping when the converter hits it's stall speed and there is a strange dip in the power around 4K ish... lots of other tuning bugs to work out including a terrible surging on the highway.
She hauls ass at WOT though
