Back to work on this finally...

i ran new braided stainless fuel line today and got that all hooked up and got the old leaking steel line removed. I'm hoping to get the wiring sorted out in the next few weeks, bleed the brakes and take it for a test drive by the end of next month. It needs an alignment bad as well.

I still need to figure out the air filter situation for my stacks. After talking with Hilborn i wasn't too impressed with what they have to offer, and the K&N setup is way too expensive and wouldn't fit.

Thanks, i'll take a look at those.

I have an idea involving a stock TPI intake tube assembly, just need to find one first to hack up. There should be enough filter area between the 2 filters for my 3500.



BTW, it fired right up first try tonight. the IAC is capped off so it didn't want to idle but that annoying hissing from the video is gone. Lots of electrical issues to work out.. and the cooling fan relay was buzzing really bad.. haha

Kinsler has this for sale in the garage sale section but i'd need to get measurements from them to confirm a close fittment...




It's $185 and that filter is not big enough for sure... but i have a 4th gen Fbody K&N that would fit if i trimmed the top cover.

i'd build one from scratch for that price. then you have to remove that POS if you ever have to adjust anything or fix anything. F that lol plus you have to modify it already. just go with some rainbow socks

finished up 99% of the wiring tonight, need to wire in the P/N input to the ECM and wire back in the cooling fan relay. After that i need to bleed the front brakes again and figure out a way to make the TV cable work.. then it should be ready to hit the road.

Well, i've put a few miles on it but my pantyhose air filters were starting to fail so i finally got to work on a filter box. It's still very rough but the plan is to have it seal up against the hood and draw in all it's air through the cowl.

The "front" side will have a removable panel to make it easier to bolt down to the stacks. I'll probably end up using 1/4" lexan just to make it look better. The back side holds a 16"x8" K&N.


In this pic you can see the rough opening i cut in the back of the cowl hood, the filter is not in place obviously..




Here you can see how it sits on the engine, filter is in place.





I'll post more pics after it's all finished.

just finished reading this whole thread as i never seen it. i must say you have done one hell of a job and cant wait to see what it lays down.

although i woulda love to see if you coulda got the cavy to hit 12s it will be interesting to see what you get from this setup too

Intake is done and functional, I mounted the IAT right under the filter and so far the intake temps are ambient. The only problem now is that the air box is directing all the intake noise right into the car. At WOT it's loud enough to scramble your brains.



I put some more miles on it today, trans is still acting a little funny but overall it's doing pretty good.
