lol^ they are on my wall... for now
Today I put my 3500 all back together, bolted it to the trans and dropped it in. I still have a long list of stuff to do but seeing the engine in the bay is always nice.
and yes, those are my dirty footprints on the fresh black paint, not rust.

So do you have any money into the engine itself, like porting or cam?
And how do you like the tubular K-member, are they worth getting to reduce weight? And do you think its going to be less strong and or allow more chassis flex?
Also wondering what are the pros or cons to using solid motor mounts like that?

Yes, this is the same engine that put down 275 WHP in my Z24. it has a custom cam that's pretty wild and lots of porting.
the K member is nice, it gave me the clearance i needed for the oil pan and more room for the custom headers. It's only a few lbs lighter than the stock one so if you are trying to save weight, look elsewhere. It should be just as strong or stronger than stock. Eventually i'll get a strut tower brace and a wonderbar so it should be as stiff as possible.
The solid mounts are somewhat temporary, i plan on making a jig from them and building new poly ones over the winter. With my cam the car is going to shake like hell at idle with these.
search youtube for "3500z" and you can see this engine in action...

Shit, you could almost bolt another 3500 on to the front of that one with all the space up front.

I think I may end up with more room that you...
Of course, mine isn't in all the way yet, so it may still shift forward some.-Brad-

Well, i made some progress so far this weekend. After a few different layouts i finally settled on the exhaust routing. It's all welded, just need to put a bung in for my WBo2. Pics maybe tomorrow.
I also managed to score the alternator bracket, alternator, PS pump bracket, PS pump pulley and some other random junk that i needed from a local yard. I ended up with 3 different versions of the RWD alternator bracket, i like the 3.4 Fbody one the best aside from the mounting spots for the A/C compressor which i don't need.
Hopefully tomorrow i'll finish up the exhaust, Brakes and the wiring. Looking at Tuesday for a first-fire video.
