  • Hello Everyone

    Hello guys and girls.

I am new to the site only in registration. I have been using the site for a while now researching various things over the years. I am active on BonnevillePro, w-body.com and mymonte.com based on past vehicles. Currently though, I don't own any vehicle that fits into those catagories.

I sold my bonneville at the beginning of the year to buy a 1970 blazer which is my new project, and supplemented it with a 1970 GMC Suburban for parts. I also have a 1996 Acura Integra GSR 4 door as my DD (Stock, nothing ricered.) and that takes care of my 5 speed needs for now.

I have been big into the bonnevilles until recently when I sold mine, having three before. I also dabbled in the W-bodies with 2 98 Lumina LTZ's, a 98 intrigue and a 00 Regal GSE. I researched, but never began a 5 speed swap for the last bonneville, going so far as to gather almost every part necessary to go it that wasn't custom for both the 282 and the 284 5 speeds. Once I sold my last bonneville, I started selling off the 5 speed swaps. I have sold pretty much everything, but still have a couple things hanging around.

I still love working on cars, and bought a house last year with a 3 car garage with an oil change pit. Unfortunately I have an immobile blazer parked over it, but am hoping to soon change that. I also have a 2002 alero I am in charge of maintenance on, so I am still in the 60degreeV6 realm, and is what I use the site most for.

I am also an avid junkyarder, having the local pick-n-pull within eyesite of my job. This works out well as I can go there at lunch and scope stuff out if someone needs a part, get pictures, and then go get it the next day/weekend. If anyone needs anything, feel free to ask.

And lastly, if you happen to be in the area, I am always open to meeting up, or helping out with any car-related things.

Hope this is a good intro.

Welcome! All I can say is I am super-jealous of your house!! I know a pit is something I have planned for when I go to build a house. Don't really have the urge to dig up the current garage floor to install one.

Thanks for the welcome. This is my garage/workshop. It's about 30' wide by 20' deep. Sounds decent, but i could use another 2-6' in depth and width. Really is more like an oversized 2 car. But it works for what I need once I get the electrical re-done.

These are from after I moved in. I have since sold the bonneville, and packed the garage with other junk.

And the best part, the pit:

Nice. I just measured mine the other day, but can't for the life of me remember the dimensions... I think its around 20' wide and 24' deep. I, too, am in the process of upgrading the electrical in mine. Didn't have any spare breaker space in the house panel, but it did have a 50A 240V feed to the garage that the previous owner had labeled WELDER. So I added a new sub-panel in the garage, fed it with the existing wire (added the neutral as well), and am in the process of adding receptacles and lighting all over the place. Oh, and I made sure to add a 50A 2-pole in the new panel for the future welder.

yeah, I am looking to run new electric over to it. I would need to do roughly 12 feet of underground cable to get there. Currently there is a single 14/3 wire coming over from the house that all the power is running off of (currently 4 4' lights, 2 outlets (one for garage door opener) and one outside light.) To run my welder, or multiple pieces of equipment, I run an extension cord into the house.

Soon though I hope to get this fixed.
